I am no longer accepting private tutoring sessions

I received 7 requests for private tutoring sessions recently and all were NO-SHOWS. I am no longer accepting private tutoring sessions until eduFire implements a new system where students are required to pay for private tutoring sessions upon registration. The current system allows students to register for sessions and then simply not show up resulting in the teacher wasting time planning for the session and then waiting for the student. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The following is an equitable solution for both students and teachers.

<> Student registers for a session and enters their payment information.
<> Teacher accepts the date and time the student requested, at which time the student is charged for the session.
<> The student may cancel up to 24 hours before the session and receive a 50% refund with the other 50% going to the teacher minus the 15% eduFire fee.
<> If the student cancels within 24 hours before the session, they still need to pay the full amount.

This type of registration system would result in only committed students registering for sessions. It would also protect the time teachers spend to prepare for sessions and the inconvenience of setting aside time for the sessions, often at off hours to accommodate student requests.

THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

About My Group Classes

Why do most people learn a language?

To be able to speak of course.

The focus during my 19 years teaching ESL was to get my students to SPEAK English. Most students learning English as a Second Language want to improve their PRONUNCIATION, REDUCE their ACCENTS, and be able to COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY with native English speakers both Socially and in Business.

My classes can help you ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL!!!!

“In English” Series – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
Learn about all kinds of cool stuff in English. Topics like science, business, fishing, hiking, cooking, and much more. All classes in the language you really want to learn….ENGLISH.

English Conversation – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
This is an English conversation class designed to encourage group discussions about different themes. We will talk about important topics from religion and politics to lighter topics like gardening and camping. Any English level student can join.

English Idioms – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
You need to know idioms in order to understand native English speakers. Idioms are used extensively in American TV, movies, music, literature, and in conversations among native English speakers.

English Slang – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
You need to know slang in order to understand native English speakers. Slang is used extensively in American TV, movies, music, literature, and in conversations among native English speakers.

English Vocabulary – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
In this class you will be introduced to English vocabulary based on a theme which will be announced when you sign up.

English Writing – alphabet – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
The English alphabet is written using manuscript or cursive letters. Being able to recognize and write both manuscript and cursive will make it easier for you to understand, not only printed material, but handwritten information as well. Many students learn to speak English but cannot write the letters in Manuscript or Cursive properly. This class will make your handwriting much prettier.

American English Reductions – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
Reductions are reduced forms of English words. Words like want + to become, or are reduced to, wanna. Reductions, such as wanna are not real words in English. You need to use reductions in order to sound more natural. You need to know reductions in order to understand conversations between native English speakers. Reductions are used extensively in American TV, movies, music, literature, and in conversations among native English speakers.

English Pronunciation – Group Lesson $5 or SuperPass
This class focuses on the proper position of your mouth, lips, and tongue when pronouncing English words. Even if you know English grammar and a lot of English vocabulary, if your PRONUNCIATION IS TERRIBLE, NOBODY WILL UNDERSTAND YOU. This will be your most important class.
