Blender is a free and open source software that you can download from blender.org. It can be used to create 3D-models, images, scenes, animations and even movie films. This class will walk you through some basic steps to get familiar with the basic concepts of blender.
- what is blender?
- what can you do with blender?
- the blender user interface
- the upcoming version 2.5
- how to create and edit a simple object in blender
We will work with application sharing so you will be able to see me working live on my own blender software during the whole lecture.
Please go to blender.org and download the upcoming Version 2.5 (Alpha) for your operating system. You find the download link here:
http://www.blender.org/download/get-25-alpha/
Make sure you get the right version for your system (Windows have two versions for 32 bit and 64 bit). Windows users, please download the ZIP-Version and unzip the downloaded file. Run the blender.exe and see if it will show the blender start screen. If it don’t work, you may have the wrong version.
Please enter the class in time since I can’t repeat all the steps for late arrivals. Anyway, you are welcome to watch the recording if you missed the beginning of the class.
