In this class I intend to show you the basic motivations of the Free Software Movement, how it evolved since its beggining 25 years ago and what makes people devote their effort to this cause both voluntarily or by receiveng fundings to do so.
I also intend to explain how opensource is related to freesoftware and how these separate movements related to each other in order to produce high quality applications such as Mozilla Firefox, OpenOffice, Debian, Ubuntu, GNU/Linux and thousands of other free software packages.
