About Class

Tagalog (officially known as Filipino) is the official language of the Philippines. Overall, there are 90 million speakers of this language in the world (wide Filipino diaspora!).

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Tagalog in a steady pace, then this class is for you! Offered every Sunday, this class will slowly, yet surely, increase your proficiency in Tagalog. A good starting foundation if you plan to study Tagalog more in-depth or if you want to go beyond the basic phrases/greetings!

This class will meet once a week, for 8 weeks, and by the end of the series, you should be able to:

1. Express yourself in basic, yet complete sentences.
2. Have a functional vocabulary of at least 100 words.
3. Know an entire tagalog song by heart.

And you are guaranteed to enjoy the surprised faces of Filipinos everywhere, everytime you start talking to them in Tagalog.

YOU WILL HAVE HOMEWORK! I ask that only serious students register (even though the class is free) as you will have homework. Dedication is an absolute must!

Uy guys!!!

So my laptop breathed its last breath 30 minutes ago and I’m currently using my parent’s computer to contact you. Considering that it took this computer 30 minutes to boot up (and I’ve been trying to join an Edufire class just to see if this PC can make it, to no avail), and the closest internet cafe opens at 10:00 a.m., I currently have no means to teach the class…

I apologize for this unforeseen development. Hopefully I can find a working computer soon enough to teach the class without a significant gap to make you forget everything!

The best I can do… each one of you gets a free Tagalog class with me once I’m back online (when would that be? I’ll let you know!!). For now, please email me anytime. I can definitely get back to you through my phone.
