NOTE FOR 1st TIME VISITORS TO THE Golden CLASSES
~This is the Golden place where Students & Tutors come together to Speak the languages we’re learning.
~We are building family-like relationships. Be ready to choose what ‘role’ you would like to play, sister, brother, cousin, auntie…
~If anyone’s wondering, saying, “Jamila, how can we have all languages together in one class?” Think…
1. modified ‘screen translation’ (classmates type translations, like subtitles, in the chat boxes while a person speaks. good for improving writing & listening comprehension skills.);
2. ‘self-translation’ (translation and original statement typed by the person who spoke. done immediately after or before speaks. also good for improving written skills.);
3. ‘consecutive interpretation’ (classmates come onto the microphone after a person speaks to interpret. a good practice of listening & verbal skills.); or,
4. ‘breakout rooms’. (First time hearing about breakout rooms? Here, you may get to find out what they are and how they work.)
All options are simply…Genius…in my not-so-humble opinion.
*Options 1-3 are modified versions of the technical definitions of those terms.
