Although I experienced a multitude of technical problems during our online session, I still managed to learn a lot from Allisun about the Moodle platform. The class was quite enjoyable and Allisun has a wonderful way of putting everyone at ease. As someone who is new to online teaching, I am doing everything I can to create a positive environment to help my students get the most out of their time and effort. More than just 'appreciating' the things I learned, I believe that I desperately needed to know that there are relatively inexpensive tools available to be better organized and more thorough in my approach to online teaching. I would recommend this course to anyone serious about teaching others online. Furthermore, I would recommend Allisun as online tutor as well. And by the way, the technical problems were due to my network configuration, not the fault of Allisun or the eduFire network. Posted by Ron on Sunday May 3

Allisun had good information about Moodle. She was well-prepared with her topic. I wish she would have slowed down a little particularly when she was describing labels. It would have been a much better presentation if she had had more familiarity with Edufire's online classroom features. But, I did learn something, which is good. Posted by Patricia on Monday Apr 13

The content, pace and professionalism of the course was well worth recommending. Anyone that would like to learn the basics and fill in what even the experienced users might have missed should take this course. As a presenter, please work on better understanding what windows are in front and knowing what the students are seeing. You present very well, but time was wasted moving screens and addressing small technical issues. This is, btw, very common with webinars, so don't feel bad, just be better than the rest. eduFire should consider another webinar hosting solution or fix a critical issue. When any pull down menu is selected, the students can not see the list in the pull down. When teaching this course it gives 'context' to the item being described if we see the other features on the list. Thank you for your services and keep up the great work. Moodle is a complex piece of software and it is hard to find out how to use it well on your own and/or even through non-live, online courses - Allisun's tour gave a wide overview (maybe a little to wide for one go?) of the possibilities and the live presentation made all the difference for seeing how things worked. There were several questions asked that required response from a person deeply knowledgeable about Moodle - Allisun handled these confidently and her answers gave me new information. I thought Allisun did a wonderful job of introducing Moodle to the class. She kept the class engaged with questions and answered them as the arose but stayed on track with the presentation. I will say, there were times when I was experiencing lags in the video and audio but overall a good experience. The lags may have been due to the fact that I am in Japan and she was in the US. I will look into other class/course by Allisun and other instructors as well. Good job to Allisun and EduFire. Posted by Bill on Tuesday Mar 17

With all the documentation that is currently available on the web, it could be assumed that anyone interested in taking this class has already found much of the content in the books. Why take the class then? Because the instructor builds a logical mental model of how the system works, and presents it in a logical step by step fashion. Course used combination of PPTs and Moodle walk thru's, covering many of the questions I had formed while reading the various docs. The instructor was well versed in using Moodle and was able to communicate this knowledge well. If there is a problem with the course it was minor and consisted of the presentation system not displaying the content of drop down boxes correctly (at least for me). I would recommend this course for those seeking an introductory overview of the Moodle system. Posted by Richard on Tuesday Mar 17

Allisun ran a huge class really well and shared lots of interesting information. I humbly suggest some student activities might be good for future sessions - possibly a short time 'playing' with some live Moodles via own browser outside eduFire. A great class though, and definitely recommended. Posted by Mair on Tuesday Mar 17

The content was wonderful and the class participation was very informative as well! I had trouble with the feed, but I was on a public wireless. I have already recommended the next one to a linkedin group. Posted by Kate on Thursday Mar 19

Very nicely run class. I was more interested in an overall view of how one might use Moodle and felt this was definitely delivered. Also appreciated reading several of the informative chat q&a on the sidebar including from some who clearly weren't seeing Moodle for the first time. Learners helping learners - nice! the 1.5 hr presentation was a generous hands-on tutorial on moodle's general features and usability. the intro course shares moodle as an all-in-one teaching application that unburdens the teachers load with its simple system of monitoring and organization. thanks again, allisun! an online tutor who actively responds to spontaneous queries is a world of a difference to an embedded powerpoint. thank you for sharing us your time. ^_^ Posted by ana on Tuesday Mar 31

Allisun is so knowledgable and helpful. She doesn't go to fast, answers questions and takes time respond to each participant with making the class go too fast or too slow. Posted by Kim on Wednesday Apr 22

Very informative class. She packed a lot into one hour, but it wasn't overwhelming. Helped me greatly in setting up my Moodle. Posted by Kathleen on Monday Oct 5
