About Brett Fyfield

I’ve met so many interesting people here on eduFire, all with a passion for learning and sharing that is hard to find anywhere else.

I’m currently not taking on any more students because I am going back to school myself.

I highly recommend taking a look at

http://nihongoup.com and http://textfugu.com

Cheers!

What’s on?

1:1 Japanese Sessions

I offer one hour tailored 1:1 sessions to help you master conversational Japanese. Each lesson comes with a pre and post-task to help you incorporate sophisticated learning strategies into your daily study.

Subscribe to Rainbowhill’s Japanese Language and Culture Newsletter to get significant discounts and exclusive tips on learning Japanese. Plus all the lastest on Japanese culture from around the web.

1:1 JLPT Prep Sessions

I’m studying for JLPT N1 this year and I’ve spent a lot of time developing and applying the best test taking techniques right here on eduFire.

With a highly focussed 1:1 session you’ll feel more organised and confident about facing the mountain of self directed study you need to do to succeed at the JLPT, no matter what your level.

Subscribers to my Japanese Language and Culture Newsletter also get discounts on Test Prep and special insider knowledge on passing the JLPT

A Note About Booking 1:1 Sessions: Please book your lesson at least 24 hours in advance. Because of the time difference between where you are and where I am in Australia, I’m probably asleep when you decide to book. Chances are if you leave it too late I’ll miss your request. I wouldn’t want to disappoint you.

Japanese for Absolute Beginners

Japanese for Absolute Beginners is the complete course for getting started in Japanese. There are full class notes available exclusively in PDF format, Smart.fm lists for vocabulary building and video guides to useful expressions in Japanese.

The class is accompanied by a Language Lab, where you put into practice the phrases, expressions and vocabulary learnt in the first class in a low-stress conversational environment.

Japanese for Beginners

Only slightly more advanced than Absolute Beginners, this class focuses on expanding your vocabulary and improving your ability to construct your own sentences in Japanese

It is followed by a Language Lab, which gives you the best opportunity to experiment with your new-found conversational confidence.

Fast Track to Fluency in Japanese

If you have some experience of Japanese but need to breakthrough to real fluency, you might also be interested in Fast Track to Fluency in Japanese. In this language ‘hacks’ lesson I cover techniques to immediately increase your fluency, stuff you won’t find in textbooks. Class numbers are limited so you’ll have more personalised attention and the best chance to talk.

Other Classes

Field Mice and Japanese Mnemonics uses an ancient Greek a memory peg system and a children’s story book about two field mice to accelerate your learning. Sound like fun? It sure is! There is a Smart.fm list and video reading of the book to help you expand your memory and retention of new vocabulary

My Background

I’m a CELTA qualified English teacher with over 6 years experience teaching in Japan and Australia. I’m currently working at University as a international student adviser by day, and a Japanese Teacher by night.

At home I speak mostly Japanese with my wife and our two kids. I’m at an upper intermediate level of Japanese, written and spoken. I am keen to take on beginner to intermediate level students of Japanese.

Learning a language is a great way to meet people and learn about the world. Not only that, it’s a great way to learn about yourself. Share your enthusiasm for learning languages with me.
