Students will learn Japanese language, as well as cultural context through the study of Japanese literature. This time, the class will study some of the most interesting and beautiful phrases or paragraphs from Murakami’s work.

Regarding your questions;
1. I am planning to give the class just once at this point, but if the students want to study more about Murakami, I would think about giving sequel classes.
2. Homework is not a requirement, yet I will let the students know at least a novel or a couple of stories to review prior to the class. Murakami's books are so popular in the world that I believe many of them would be available at the libraries.
