Fun and flexible, I am a native Japanese and English bilingual & bicultural teacher, experienced in teaching Japanese from beginners to advanced learners. I am also a Career Counselor by day, so if you have any career issues you would like to discuss, I do one on one consulting for Career Development as well.
I really enjoy teaching students that are committed to learning: that is proactive learners that are steady in putting in the effort it takes to learn a language! If you are willing to help better yourself, I am here to help.

Japanese
I am especially skilled at helping learners of Japanese understand the “nuances” of Japanese expression from a cultural standpoint, especially to English speakers. I also understand the many stumbling blocks you may encounter.
I only teach using materials I think are interesting and enlightening in a useful and understandable way.
Career Development
We all have stumbling blocks we may not realize. Sometimes, we are our own worst enemies preventing us from fulfilling our own dreams.
My Career Development sessions will help you identify what your passion is and where you may be “stuck” in your pursuit of it.
If you are preparing for a job/internship/grad school interview and would like to practice, I can provide you with a general Practice Interview with feedback.
For either case, please request a 1 on 1 Career Development session with the topic you would like to discuss/interview request in the message. I require a job description (for the position you are interviewing for), resume and a cover letter for all Practice Interviews. If you need help preparing these job-search documents, I can also help as well. Prices will start from $30 depending on necessary prep time.
また、日本人の方との英会話の練習も行っています。日本で留学カウンセラーの経験、自分のアメリカ大学院生活、大学でのアメリカ人・留学生に対するキャリアカウンセリングの経験を元に、英語の日常会話からご旅行の準備、特にアメリカへの留学準備(高校から大学院レベルまでOKです)お仕事の面接やビジネス会話の練習など、ご希望に合わせてご指導いたします。まずはメールでお問い合わせください。日本語でも英語でもOKです!
I love movies, arts & crafts, gardening, good food, and the Tango. I enjoy working in a collaborative team. I live with my biologist husband, budding bilingual daughters, and a curious and hyper dog in north eastern Pennsylvania.
Send me an email if you would like to chat how we might be able to work together.
Also for Friends Requests, I like to know a little bit about you, just in real life, before I accept. It is a little quirk of mine, but that’s how I am, so don’t be offended! Send me a brief introduction, and let’s take it from there!
Japanese
Planning to travel, study, or work in Japan? Need some “basic conversation” tips or intensive practice with corrections? Need to prepare for a study abroad, scholarship, or job interview in Japanese? Need some help with your Japanese homework? Just want to go crazy learning Kanji? Sure, why not?! Let me help you learn Japanese.
I require a mike/earphones and a camera for 1:1 lessons. The first lesson is $30, after that the discounted rate of $28.
If you have anything specific you want to go over, send me a message and we will schedule a one to one lesson. Once we do set a time (when I accept/counter offer the lesson time) the appointment should come up on the Session tab on your eduFire page. A “Join Now!” link will show up, usually 30min before our scheduled lesson time, so come in at least 5min before our starting time:)
I teach 1:Many classes as well! For the class info, please check out the links on the right of this page under Classes Taught. Please make sure to let me know what your level and interests are before you sign up. On occasions I may ask you to speak up in class. Mike/earphones are highly recommended for my 1:Many classes.
