In this class we take the lyrics of a popular Pop, Ballad, or Pop Rock songs from either the 80’s, 90’s, or more modern ones, and translate it into English. As we go along I’ll explain its vocabulary, sentence structures, and expressions.

Music is one of the most effective ways to increase your proficiency in a language and to learn about a culture. Each week there will be a different artist and song. The majority of them will be from Mexico while the others will be from other countries such as Spain.

August 1st – “Amante Bandido” from Miguel Bosé

This class requires you to have at least basic Spanish skills. You will get a copy of the original lyrics by e-mail shortly before starting each session. A microphone is not required for this class but it is recommended to practice your speech.

If you consider yourself an advanced student then I do recommend you participate in Spanish as much as possible. Please take the time to examine the song that we will be working with.
