About Class

For over two-hundred years, African slaves were exported, as though they were goods, from their native continent, and sold at auction to the highest bidder. The atrocities of slavery have marred nations across the globe and on every continent man has inhabited.

This class is a survey of times in history when man has been subjugated to others, and will discuss the characteristics of slave trading.

While we will spend considerable time on the Columbian trade, the exportation of African slaves to other Atlantic nations, we will also examine:
-Europeans sold as slaves in the Medieval
-Internal African Slavery
-Slavery in Korea
-Polynesia and the slave trade

This will be a great session for English learners as well, so you are, too, invited!
