Studying to take the JLPT 3 this December? Me too! Come learn and practice new grammar points, vocab words, and of course, listening skills! We’ll have weekly meetings up until the big day!
New! Each week, we’ll look at some form of Japanese pop culture (song, YouTube video, website, you name it) and review JLPT 3 grammar/kanji/vocab with it! It’ll be quick and fun, and a great way to help remember all we need to know! There’ll be helpful “homework” to go along with it for those who want to give it a go!
Please be ready to participate! As this is a study group, asking questions, practicing, and offering responses is essential to everyone’s success and learning :) Just trying is great! You don’t have to be right! I’m not quite ready to pass the JLPT 3, and you don’t need to be either, that’s what this group is for!
“And pie”?
If you’re taking the test in NYC, you can join in on a pre-test meet-up to eat pie*, practice, and get geared up! (*= Pie is subject to group decision, could be replaced with dango, or mochi, or sushi, etc. Rules and restrictions apply. Void where prohibited.)

+ a new Japanese song!
I’ll try to post the weekly topics a week in advance for each coming session :)
If you’ve been struggling with something, let me know and I’ll be sure to make it a topic to study that week. We’ll figure it out!
There will be NO MEETINGS on
Oct. 3 Adobe is updating the platform we use to run classes, no eduFire classes this day.
Nov. 14 Liz is going to an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime, 3 day dog behavior conference!
I will send e-mail reminders of canceled sessions as they approach. You will still get e-mails from eduFire saying there is a class, so be sure to check your eduFire inbox for messages from me!
・Be studying for the JLPT 3. Or, if you’re studying material that’s on the JLPT 3 level, feel free to join us, too!
・この文が読めますか。 分かれますか。
If you can’t read and understand these questions, this group may be a bit too much for you right now. Don’t worry, you’ll get there! Consider taking some of the other awesome Japanese classes here on EduFire!
・Here’s a list of JLPT 3 topics to give you a better idea of the level this study group will be around: http://www.jflalc.org/index.php?act=tpt&id=8

If anyone is interested, I'm also more than willing to help them find their way to Kinokuniya, Book Off, Asahiya, the Japan Society, etc.! There's tons of great Japanese resources in NYC! posted 2 months ago
