This is a 6-week introductory class that will focus on basic expressions, vocabulary and grammar patterns in Japanese. This is the class to attend for the absolute basics and will be lecture style (less interaction, more note-taking!) If you would like to practice what you learn in this class, please consider taking my Masterclass, which will involve much more listening, speaking and personal, one-to-one interaction!
Since many students will have taken other Japanese classes on eduFire already, I will assume that all students are familiar with hiragana and katakana. If you feel rusty or don’t know the two basic alphabets, go over them and try to get a ‘feel’ for looking at Japanese. You don’t need to be perfect, but it will help you a lot to know most of the characters. I will write in romaji for the first class only, so study up!
