Hello everyone! This week we are finishing introductory Russian class and continue learning Russian in situations. Imagine: a family of foreigners has just arrived in St.Petersburg. They know just a little Russian but they will use it in all necessary situations – and you will learn them too! Getting through passport control, demanding your lost luggage (it does happen), ordering taxi, eating out and much more. http://edufire.com/classes/93-situational-russian- Start November 28, 5 pm London time |

Почему у Вас все классы или рано или тогда, когда у меня спорт??:)))) |
Я никогда не ем мясо. :) |
Марко, наверное, вегетарианец. А может быть, он просто не любит мясо! |
Строгий вегетарианец…. is that right? :) |
Я бы сказал “ортодоксальный вегетарианец”:)))) just kidding:) |
Well, a vegetarian doesn’t eat meat or fish…. but does eat dairy. A vegan has nothing that is derived from an animal, dead or alive, in their diet. Why? I don’t think there’s a short answer, but every reason you can probably think of. :) |
That’s a good answer, Marco!:) |
No harm was taken…. and of course, I agree. :) |
Why are you writing in English, if you can write many things in Russian??:)) |
Because I can’t write many things in Russian yet. :( But I’m getting there! :) |
Oh, I see:)) I write better, than I speak:(( |
You speak just fine. =) |
tut-tut-tut |
Privet! That’s about one tenth of my russian vocabulary Poka |
Enrique, join Yulia’s class and you will enlarge your Russian vocabulary:))) |
Hello, |
Max Frai ‘Complaints Book’:))) to be honest the first book that influenced me was Turgenyev “Fathers and children” (I don’t know the correct translation) |
Evgeniy, I read Fathers and Sons by Turgengev (in English) and I also liked the book. I was angry when Bazarov died though. I also liked ‘Notes from the Underground’ by Dostoevsky, but I’m a little worried. If I sympathize with the narrator, does that make a psychopath as well? Lol. I don’t know how I feel about ‘Crime and Punishment’ by Dostoevsky, it had a strange ending. I love ‘Anna Karenina’ by Tolstoy. A bit long, but still a great story. The book that changed my life is One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Short but very powerful tale. |
Ginny, you know a lot of Russian books:) Some of them I haven’t read:) As I don’t like any literature that takes too much energy to be understood:)) I’m sure I’ll read some of them later, when I’ll feel like reading that kind of books:) |

Really? I don’t like Pavel at all. I don’t know if my memory is correct, but in the English translation it’s implied that he is a womanizer. That really puts him low on my list of favorite characters. However, I hate Nikolai even more. He only acknowledges Fenichicka when he gains Pavel’s approval. Not very noble at all. Honestly, at first I didn’t like Bazarov, but I feel he just got carried away with the Nihilist movement. Deep down inside he’s probably a good guy. |
Well, Pavel Petrovich isn’t a womanizer, as the last part of his life he loves the only one woman! And he has never thought about marriage with someone else! I think he is the best character in this book:) |

I think one class is not enough. So on Thursday will be only |
