That’s pretty old. I don’t know if I’d want to work for 98 years, though. By the way, ふるい is for objects, not people’s ages. If someone were to say 私は古い人間です, they would be saying they’re old fashioned, not old in years. To say someone is old, you just say としです. Yes, it just means “year,” but that’s how the euphemistic Japanese express it. There are many other ways of saying someone is “old,” but in general, とし is most commonly used as an antonym to 若い. |
