We’ve all shared with each other what our New Years plans are. Now, my next question to you is, What’s your New Year’s Resolution?

Mine are:

1. To start working out and eating healthier.(Balance my chi)
2. To focus more time promoting my Online English classes on EduFire! :)
3. To take on a hobby, maybe painting

What’s your resolution? (17 more days till 2009!)

My resolution? To learn all of my Hiragana and Katakana, and be able to talk to another Japanese speaker and have a full conversation without asking for the meaning of things.

Nice one, I endorse this topic fully. :D

Mine are:

1) Work out, go to the gym. Go on a personalized mass building diet, tone my body so it looks nicer. Not only am I vain, I just think it would make me feel better too.

2) Keep the motivation to study Japanese. I want to become as close to native as possibly can.

3) Find my “niché” in life. I still haven’t found that one thing I am good at.

4) Generally be as nice as possible to everyone, I strive for this a lot hoping it makes people happy. However, sometimes it is easy for me to forget that, so I need to learn to not forget.

5) Do something I want to do. I have a plan, which, “maybe” work. It’s something I’ve been thinking of past few days, and, it’s an exciting prospect to think about. However, I don’t do things I often want to do, but, just this once, I need that to change.

Oh, Goody!

1. Keep up my Japanese studies (seems like a very common resolution here on Edufire).
2. Finish one G.K. Chesterton book.
3. Get myself on Japanese soil. I’ve been planning to go for the last three years.
4. Pick up the guitar again.
5. Be nice to everyone.
6. Stop staring at people just to creep them out (a really bad habit of mine).
7. Keep my cellphone charged. And know where it is actually….

I have so many resolutions, but I dare not say more for fear of being mocked come January 2nd….

=)

As lame as it sounds Alex pretty much wrapped up everything I was going to say.

Except I want to start a blog as well, as cliché as it sounds I’d like to get something going like Japan is Doomed but I digress.

2008 sure has gone quickly, I’ve already been on EduFire more than 3 months haha :)

I started eating healthier and going to the gym in Dec. Maybe it won’t “hurt” that much when it becomes my resolution in Jan.

4. Keep up the Japanese studything.

5. Less laptop. (I’m at a folkhighschool for …. sake! I should be with the people here more. And not hiding in my bedroom. xD )

I’ve never been one to have new years resolutions, but I definitely do have some goals for the coming year.

1. Continue studying French, take my final test by March
2. Buy tickets for Guinea by March
3. Write daily on my French blog
4. Begin a more concentrated effort to teach my son French

I hate making resolution that I don’t think I’ll keep so I’m not going to say diet/exercise because I always fail that one. But I do want to:

1. Continue Japanese at the same pace I’ve been studying
2. Leave the US for a trip
3. Save money and build my credit!!

I don’t usually bother to stick to my resolutions. BUT I want to stick to this resolution and I will try my 100%

1. Learn and master Japanese seriously :/
2. Study hard and get through my whole school term smoothly ): ): ):
3. Save up enough cash for my Japan trip
(if I get through my school term :/ )
4. Sleep early (to get enough energy to get through school term :/ :/ ) [it’s 3:30am]

I’m with Mel….I don’t do the resolutions anymore because I usually end up letting myself down. :) Good luck to all of you though for being strong and setting goals!

Every year I set up resolutions, which I always end up breaking within the first week. But this year, it’s going to be different. I’m motivated! 2009 is going to be my year of great change!

I don’t normally do them either. If I need to make changes, I try and make them. Too much pressure to do them on the 1st January! :)

1. Take my Japanese conversation to a deeper level
2. Master all Hiragana and Katakana and learn a few Kanji
3. Ride my bike more often to work
4. Floss more
5. Take my guitar playing up another level, and Uke a little bit
6. Start learning piano (with my kids)
7. Take more photos

Gosh, that’s a lot! Course, those would be desires even if they weren’t resolutions, so may as well call them resolutions, right? :-)

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

Was it Malin that said he wanted to be present and aware? I like that.

I resolve to practice presence and practice awareness. And to breathe deeply, very very deeply. (Especially when my three year old goes through a phase where she’s licing everyone claiming that she’s a zebra and that’s what zebras do.)

I resolve to be happy with my zebra daughter, be sincere and loving with my family, practice patience and wisdom in all of my actions.

(Special note to other moms: Pick up a copy of “Momfullness: Mothering with Mindfulness, Compassion, and Grace” by Denise Roy. It changed my life.)

Practicing happiness and peacefulness,

Maureen

And when she’s “licking” everyone.

I resolve to re-read and edit my edu fire posts before i send them.

@Maureen: Proofreading is a great resolution! But sometimes it ruins all the fun. :)

FOFL at both posts, about “licing” and “licking.” When I read “she’s ‘licking’ everyone,” I had to scroll up to see who would do such a thing! FOFL again. Thanks.
