eduFire recently launched our new fabulous 1:M classes! click here

There is a great range of subjects to choose from with Languages like Spanish, French, Japanese to Raw food and Memory techniques! A great mix of free classes to fee paying classes so there is something for everyone. Which brings me to my question :)

What else would you like to have a lesson in?

Our tutors cover so many subjects and I am sure they would be very interested to see what your eager minds are craving for!

I am looking forward to see your replies. :)

This is a great thing!

EDIT: Wouldn’t a weight loss class be great?

Very good…. thanks Debbie!

Since I am new, I dont know if there have been already classes like that, but I just thought of classes that explain/discuss:

- usefull internet sites for the daily use (like blogging, games, riddles, books etc.)
- rules/strategies of common or interesting games like chess, backgammon, card games etc.
- “how-to-classes” (e.g. how to build your own website)

Thats for now I guess…. Looking forward to more ideas :-)

Math – algebra and calculus
Chemistry – stoichiometry

I’m afraid I’m forgetting everything I learned in high school.
I already forgot how to convert mass to mol, mol to grams, etc :(

***Edit***

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I coincidentally just made a post about my consideration to host cooking classes! So, in case cooking is something you would like to see more of here, definitely check out my post: http://edufire.com/forums/1/topics/2129 (sorry, I was confused about how to embed a link into a word—n00b!!).

I’m not trying to spam this; I just thought it might be a good idea to add it to this topic.

Math (need it to obtain my degree), would like to know how to play poker and bridge, perhaps in the field of languages Esperanto and Aramaic, mayan glyphs, history, time managment. For now those are my suggestions. Cooking wise I’m more “concerned” with unhealthy eating, I can’t deep fry to save my life!

Art history would be pretty cool, too, as it generally includes a lot of neat coverage from life and culture of ancient Egypt to impressionism to monument and landmark structures to…. well…. anything relating to art and its history. I would definitely attend an art history class on here, especially since I didn’t pay attention when I had the opportunity in high school!

Well, it seems Math is the subject most mentioned so far…. :) I sometimes miss seventh-grade Geometry too…. :)) Really.

@Tim – I know Koichi will have a great class on using Tweeter, and there’s also a very interesting Introduction to the game of Go class coming up! :)

@Lauren – cooking classes sound great! And I remember we used to do those convertions as well…. (eight-grade Chemistry….. hehehe)

@Jorge – Linguistics classes would indeed be a great addition! I will remember this suggestion when I start my linguistics MA in a couple of years! :D

I agree….My son is in high school and really struggling with Geometry. When one on one tutors are too expensive for somebody on a tight budget, a class should prove most helpful. Now we just need a Geometry teacher. :)

I’m pretty happy with the range of classes on offer so far, especially consider that the sky’s the limit in terms of future options (it all depends on what someone wants to offer, right?). The only thing on my wishlist is more classes in my timezone (Australian EST). We’re in the top 5 countries for eduFire traffic, but the vast, vast, vast majority of classes fall smack-bang in the middle of the day on weekdays for us, which makes it impossible for most students and 9 to 5 workers to partake :‘( I get really frustrated sometimes – I see a great course, get all enthusiastic and want to join, then realise that it’s at, say, 11:30am Tuesday or 3:00pm Friday. -sigh-

I know it’s a supply and demand thing, and as the vast majority of users appear to be in the American and European timezones, times convenient to them is when classes will run, but if there was a way around it somehow, it would be brilliant (and probably get a whole lot of new users into classes).

- beginning programming (open to minors!!)
- I reeeally want to learn Adobe Flash
- Asian history would be really neat, I always wanted to take it
- what about classes on religion? that could open up a whole new demographic of people coming to the site!
- I bet photoshop classes would be popular too

I would really like to learn anything of the above posted topics, and what I would like is how to create nice power point presentations using office 2007. That would be my choice.

About Arabic, the subject I teach, I have created a class to teach and improve pronunciation and take students step by step to start reading. I have made it to suit even people who know the alphabet and still have some problems with reading or pronunciation.

I tried to avoid traditional classes to teach beginners and created it to fill a gap that some people may have.

The funny thing is although I liked more one on one sessions but after I have had a great funny group in the class. They make me interested more in 1:m classes. 1:m classes are really fun. Here is the link for my current class. students can still join this week

Thank you Debbie for this wonderful thread!
