This is nice! I found out some interesting things! :)

Well, ok, here goes:

1. I love Latin and everything related to Classical antiquity. Oh, well, that’s not something new, but thought to list it anyway…. :)

2. I dream to pursue an academic career. Ambitious, I know, but there you have it! :D

3. This semester I attended a course in Greek tragedy just because I wanted to, not for a grade (it’s not in my study programme and they won’t give me the credits for it, darn!)

4. I’m a hopeless geek and proud of it. Though, you should have figured it out from the first three things I listed. :D

5. I try to be organized, but somehow I always end up finishing my projects in the last minute! :((

6. I sometimes fall asleep while commuting home from college. It’s just a 40 minute trip by bus, but from time to time I’m too tired and it happens.

7. My internal clock isn’t working. I could sometimes sleep for 15 hours without waking up on my own.

8. Do I need to add that I hate my alarm clock?

9. I can read while walking / walk while reading. Can’t do it with newspapers though, only books. And the book has to be small, so that I can still see the road with the corner of my eye. One rule: I don’t read&walk while crossing the street.

10. I honestly don’t mind people who look at me as a weirdo. :D

11. My first full-time job was a month long, during last summer holiday. I actually worked for my own college, as a student representative in the Admission board. In the busy days we used to stay more than 12 hours, but surprisingly the University paid really well. Plus, I had to work side by side with some of my teachers and it was so cool! :)

12. I love fantasy literature. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Rowlings, Robert Jordan, Ch. Paolini….. I have to get into Terry Pratchett soon!!! :)

13. My musical taste is…. eclectic, to say the least. From oldies to hits, from symphonic metal to pop. And Opera. I love to go to the Opera! :)

14. My favourite party game is Mafia) – I became addicted to it at Latin contests (we used to translate texts during the day and play it at night….. oh, the good ol’ times….)

15. I sometimes (very very rarely) get extreme bursts of misandropy, but it never lasts for more than a couple of hours. So don’t worry, I’m a friendly person generally.

Some of these are actually hilarious. Well, since I haven’t posted on these forums before, I might as well start by talking about myself! (NO NOT A NARCISSIST.)

1. My happiest purchase: A Mao Ze Dong zippo-lighter, which plays the Chinese National Anthem when opened. I gave it to my Dad to discourage him from smoking but he ended up just using his own. (Plan: Fail.)

2. I’m not learning Japanese so I can watch anime or read manga! I have another personal reason for doing so, but I don’t like to share.

3. Although once upon a time, it was so I could play a larger selection of games on my un-modded PS2. But that was a long time ago. (But I still consider it as a bonus. :D)

4. I only recently found out what ‘OTL’ meant. Prior to that, I thought it was a new sort of laugh. (ie, “That’s so funny! Otl otl otl!”)

5. I don’t understand the point of blogging. Should I?

6. Everything is food.

7. But mangoes are the best.

8. I’m afraid, very specifically, of dead floating fish in water. Dead fish on my plate is fine. Live floating fish is fine. But dead floating fish in water really gives me the jeepers.

9. The sound of scratchy pens also makes me cringe!

10. And a pet peeve is people asking whether I can speak Japanese because I come from Hong Kong, or telling me that I should be wary of giant Japanese yellow hornets. (Answer: NO, and reaction: NO.)

In answer to your point 5 (I don’t understand the point of blogging, should I?), I thought like you less than 8 months ago…. then I opened an account w WordPress (for practice)…. after 3 months, I had my own business blog and you’d be surprised how much biz it brought (and is still bringing) me. I have a small niche yet my readership is always growing…. I think most people believe bloggers are talking about their personal lives and use their blogs for venting/ranting (many are!). If you’re a great writer and marketer, have accurate info to share, know exactly who (the market) you’re targeting and have a well designed and visually appealing blog…. well! The sky is the limit!!!

1) I like stripes/checks so much that I’m wearing a checked-stripe pants with checked shoes and I’m carrying a striped bag! (I’m in school now btw)
