I am in the Bay Area (Northern California), in the USA. We are in our Summer season and seem to be bouncing between hot days, but not too hot, and warm days with a cool breeze. We have even had a couple of really windy days here. So what is the weather like where you are? |
Well here in England, it has been rainy mostly for about a week or so although today is much better. The forecasters say that summer is going to be a wash-out so maybe I will come over to the Bay Area for the summer!! ;) |

Tina, since I’m just south of you, on the Central Coast, I have pretty much the same weather. Now it’s July and our days are mild and sunny! |
Are you trying to make me cry? :) |
LOL! I’m sorry, no I didn’t mean to make you cry. How’s this for contrast – at least you don’t have the wildfires to contend with! |
Oh gosh yes! I have been reading about the wildfires, how awful. Have you been personally affected? |
Well, I´m far down south from where any of you are. And it’s July and Winter and awful. We have lots of damp, cloudy, cold days and no sun at all. Sue PS: Debbie, you have no reasons to cry!!! |
That sounds pretty rough Suasn, especially the crop burning part. You weather does sound a little like English weather. It rains quite a lot here and remains cold and damp for much of the year. Our summers have been getting hotter though (just not this year!!) |
That happens a lot in the UK, I know for a fact, been there, born there, have brothers all over the place…lol!!! Sue |
O, yes, that is how my parents feel too, Debbie. They live in the South of the Netherlands and they’re complaining all the time….then it rains, then it is humid, then it is too cold. |
GORGEOUS. LA baby! |
Well here in South Carolina…things are hot and humid….as always..and the thunderstorms in the afternoon are almost like clockwork..heh… |
San Diego is 75-80 degrees but this weekend we are expected to have weather in the 90’s!! But for the most part I can’t complain nice and sunny most of the time. |
Sounds like damp weather is a bit of a theme in some of our home locations. I don’t mind the rain so much but the constant damp is not so great to me. What would be your ‘ideal’ weather system? |
@Debbie – I haven’t been affected too much. We’ve had some smokey days but not bad because the closest fire (and worst in the state, right now) is south of us and the winds are in our favor. If some of you could send some of the damp weather our way, we would appreciate it – just be sure to keep the lightening, just send rain! @Obi – hey stranger! Good to see you back! |

We’re in a drought in my county which is just east of San Francisco (across the bay). It has been hot (in the 90s and 100s) and dry and the air quality is disgusting! There are a lot of fires going on in the hills nearby so it’s only adding to the pollution. |
I hope things improve for you Sandra and you get that rain. It sounds awful where you are Christina. Each year CA seems to get these fires. I hope things get better soon. |
It is HOT and SUNNY here we are hitting 100 degrees every day this week. UGH..I hate the electric bill in the summer. |
Here in Colorado, it has been in the 90’s but today, it’s bright and in the 70’s to 80’s…much nicer! It’s bike -ridin’ weather! |

The French expression would be “un temps de chien.” It literally means the dog’s weather, but it really means that the weather is rotten. It’s cold and rainy. And unfortunately, the Tour de France is coming through the area today. The rain makes it very difficult on the racers, and quite miserable for the spectators. |
That’s so interesting, in English we have a saying “the dog days of summer” referring to the hottest days of summer, for us in Texas we usually get an extended time of 100+ degree weather in August and beginning of September…it might be a long hot one this year. |
It is hardly ever over 100 degrees here in England. Right now it is 59F! |
We are still bouncing between hot and cool & windy. The fires have made it miserable here. There have been days where the weather forecast tells us not to leave the house because the air quality is so bad from the fires. For over a week now I have been coming home in the late afternoon and just passing out on my couch from severe sinus headaches. My cousin was nearly evacuated today from her home, which is further north of where I am by a few hours. It was kind of scary, but other than that the fires have not his to close to home. They are killing my sinuses though. |

The last post here was 1 month ago!! Yikes! How are we liking the weather 1 month on?! lol We had a big thunderstorm in the south east of England today. It was pretty cool! |

Debbie, Here in the midwest USA, it’s been raining for the last day or so. Luckily I have a gigantic umbrella, so I never get wet when I go out. :) Aside from that, since it’s summer, it’s been really hot..ugh. When it’s not raining, I have to turn on the AC so I don’t boil. :) Thankfully it’s now September, and the weather will start cooling down soon. I can hardly wait! |
