Just took a look at the new Classes page and was blown away with all the great new search features and filters! These features allow users to quickly find upcoming classes that will help them achieve their goals in regards to online learning. It is more simple to use and seems easier to find classes and information much more quickly than the previous set up.

I also love the new class pages and the new tabbed feature allowing quick access to information about the tutor and the articles he or she has written in support of the class. I haven’t had an opportunity to dive to deep into all the new features but I am looking forward to learning more about the new design. Let’s just say I was so excited I had to write this post to share with the rest of the eduFire community!

Thanks Ron! There’s much more to be done, and we’d love feedback if you find anything that’s broken. I think the rollout was a little shaky with intermittent downtime and slowness, but looks to be fairly resolved now.

If anyone finds anything that’s broken, be sure to tell us what it is so we can get it fixed! We go through and test things as much as we can, but I know all of you are good at finding all sorts of edge cases we’d never think of :) Thanks, and looking forward to hearing any feedback!

Can you put the name of the students back on the class list? Before It had it. Now it shows only the “Image”. Some of the images are the default image, and I have to click on the image to know who’s the person .

@Enrique: For me, if you hover the mouse over the images, it shows the name of the student. I don’t know if it works for you, but it saves clicking on every image.

I like the free classes filter, very useful for those of us who don’t have the Superpass. I’d like to see the ‘register for this class’ link reappear in the main menu, as it reminds me of whether I have already registered or not. I take quite a few Japanese classes, some with similar names. Not a big issue, but saves me a few clicks.

@Becky: You’re right. It does show the name if you hover the mouse over the images. I’d still like to see the name as it was before, and not having to move the mouse over the image.

Hey Koichi, something I just noticed about Ron’s class: I didn’t see how many seats are still available….. or maybe i need glasses?

I was just able to enter a classroom with 0 students registered. Before, a classroom was not created if there were 0 students signed up.

Only thing for me is the calendar: I liked how the day was shaded in green, just made it pop out more. :) Maybe now it should be black with white font?

Otherwise, looks stunning!

Koichi! I don’t know what you’re talking about buddy! What is v2.1 or v2.01??

The .01 or .1 just symbolizes an update to something. Smaller updates tend to be .01 and bigger changes tend to be + .1

When a change is pretty big but you keep the same sort of layout, you could do a +.5

THen when you make huge changes with lots of new features and a different layout, you go up a whole +1, so we went from a 1 to a 2 with this update.

Works better with software and stuff though.

I miss the class category names that were under class titles. I used it as a way to skim though the classes offered.

Its a matter of getting used to it. I’m getting confused myself. But, with time I’ll get used to it.

I love the fact that we can now use credit cards to make payments. Paypal was so new to me when I first signed up for edufire as a tutor. With this new feature, I am sure more students will sign up for lessons.

Overall, I love the new classes page. However, like Enrique, I would like the students’ names to show up like they used to.

The most aggravating thing by far is the new calendar. It was a much greater convenience for me when I didn’t have to switch tabs to see it. I know we still have the most recent class displayed on the front page of the class, but I really liked to quickly check the calendar. I suppose I can still do that, but every click in between just wastes my time.

I’d also like to be able to sort a bit more specifically. For instance, I’d like to see SuperPass Japanese classes. As it is right now I can see either SuperPass classes or Japanese classes but not a combination of the filters.

The final thing, perhaps, would be to move the search bar to somewhere where more people will recognize it as a search bar. I went three months on eduFire before realizing one was there. Maybe I’m just blind or maybe it was the “Go!” instead of “Search” that somehow threw my off.

That’s probably just me nitpicking, but you asked for it. :)

I really liked it…it shows students how well planned our sessions can be!

I also liked the way the calendar was visible earlier, so we could see at a glance the dates for the classes. Hope u will do something about that too. :)

Wow I came here to talk about how it looked great but I missed some things that I was used to. Yo guys covered it all already!

I LOVE all the new space to create my class’ webpage! The size is almost double, and the HTML editor is now larger. I love the size of the class picture too! I love how the reviews were moved to a separate tab, as there was too much information on the same page. Great job eduFire team!! You guys are really working hard to improve an already great community.

However, I do miss the calendar on the page, the names of the students without hovering, and how many seats are remaining in the class. I also miss the video for the class being on the same tab instead of on my “teacher info” tab.

But the class layout makeover is awesome!!! And I know you guys will listen to our suggestions as you always do!

I saw a problem that, I already uploaded a class profile picture,But after this new look,you can see those pictures in the list of classes, but when you are opening class page,their no profile picture, so I had to upload those pictures again on the class page.

I am not complaining but, trying to find out a bug, to get a badge …..:D
