Hi Hamdy! the letter ( ض ) is not existed in any other language except arabic . The language of ( ض ) . |
Right answer Fikry but I think you don’t need the prize, a free Arabic session, because you are already an Arab ;) Arabic is called the language of Dadd. Of course, it is pronounced in a different way because this letter is ض So it is called " لُغَةُ الضَّادِ" Thank you Elaine and Claudia! |
Thank you Patrick although I wanted you to try more :) |
Hey Fikry – cheater! :) You speak Arabic! |
I was looking all over the internet too, lol. Never found it. |

I do not quite agree because ض in fact could be compared to the modern Icelandic ð or modern Greek δ . Example ضاد = ðad = δαδ but in Greek “d” doesn’t exist. Of course the sound are not exactly similar BUT very similar. Of couse in modern English and modern French the sound ض doesn’t exist. |

Although I don’t know much information about old English and Greek but we have two similar letters in Arabic د and ض. Sometimes, when you read an Arabic book, you may find this term was mentioned. Don’t also forget that Arabs in the peak of Islamic civilization, they went everywhere and they could have changed this term if it was wrong :) Thank you very much patrick for your wonderful information. I would say shhhhhh, there are british people here so dont talk about France invading England this time :D |
