I am starting to do vendor events, and would love tips on putting on the most successful events on a budget. Any event planners here?

I guess I would like to focus on everything from promoting it, as well as planning it. Right now I want to start an annual vendor event and my biggest hold up is where to have it. The cost has to be affordable, yet, I want a great location for that walk in traffic as well. So I guess as much info as I can get for planning an event on a shoestring budget.
