I already posted these in the “Talk with eduFire” forum, but here they are again: 1. Will 1:Ms appear in user profiles? How? Only the number or will they be separated by subject? 2. Will classes taught/taken in the beta period count? I’d suggest they should be included too! 3. If they are included, will classes taken appear on a tutor’s profile? I’m just curious! And very excited as well! |

Great Jon! |

Thanks Jon, and Marco for covering all those points, there certainly are a lot of questions and also some great ideas coming from tutors and students alike. I just want to say that despite the apprehension that comes with this pretty big step forward, the changes and new ways of doing things, I’m confident that we can all work things out. One thing that really strikes me about the community here on eduFire is that I believe we are all working together to make this the best place to teach and learn. Thanks to the team for providing the platform, the tutors for bringing the talent and dedication, and most of all the students for bringing their passion and desire to learn into every lesson. Go eduFire! |

"Hi all! Marco, one monthly fee to take as many classes as you want would be just perfect!!! If you charge $5 dlls per class, then it would be a no-go for me and maybe some other students as well, not everybody earns US dollars (at least that’s my situation). Please consider the monthly fee charge. I would like to continue to be a part of Edufire! Thank you so much! I have to agree. If it’s pay per class, I will not be attending. If it’s a subscription fee (prefer a year plan as well as a month plan) I would definitely pay it (as long as it’s reasonable of course). Even if it’s a subscription just for a particular topic. For instance, I’m only interested in learning the Japanese language right now, so I would pay for all the Japanese classes via a single monthly or yearly subscription. Good luck with the launch! |

Hey Joe, Japanese will be free for a while longer, since it actually is moving towards a subscription program. So, you’re in the clear still :) |

Great News!!! I want to have two classes for pay: Conversational German I I am still thinking about running it where students have to pay in advance. Also will we get credit for the completed classes on our tutoring page? Keep me posted!!! John |

Hi Folks, We’ve been working pretty steadily on all the 1:M feature requests this week. Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve added so far:
Scott and I have more busy days ahead of us as we continue to improve the 1:M experience on eduFire. Thank you all for your feedback so far, we’re all thrilled to see the official public launch in just one short week! - Jared |
Thanks Jared! Looking forward to seeing the changes on my profile! |
Woo! Badges! |
Wow, this is indeed WONDERFUL news!!!! Thanks for letting us know, Jared! I think all the updates you mentioned are very useful! There are a number of posts about this on the Idea Board, don’t forget to mark those ideas as implemented! :) |

I am glad to hear that the # of 1:M classes will be included in our #of classes completed. Are you going to add the ones that we completed in the first round of free classes? |
Are you going to include the # of students enrolled in the classes as well? |
Hi Guys! Any new updates on the 1:m launch? |
Don’t think any classes before the 20th will be counted, since they were all considered test classes, though I’m not 100% sure on that one. |
Koichi and other edufire gurus- I am not clear if all the feedback received and classes given until 19th will start showing up on a tutors profile ‘main’ page or will it not be counted (and probably lost!) as Koichi’s last comment is impling. |
Hi Today is the 18th. When are we going to get an update about the start date? |
@Anshu, I think it will not be counted, because it was all part of a testing phase to make sure things worked. Classes given after the 20th will be counted in your profile, though. @John, The 20th is when classes will see a restart. You’ll get an e-mail when things are ready to go for real. Just make sure you know that you’ll have to recreate any classes that take place after this. |
Koichi! Who will get that e-mail? |
@Koichi, it is hard to believe that all the feedback earned too will be ’ lost’ because it happened to be in the beta phase. @Jon B.: Can you please confirm 2 things. After 20th: I don’t mind edufire, deleting all the present classes after 20th and asking tutors to recreate them after 20th as a fresh start but I definitily have big objection to hard earned feedback and testinonial going away. This just does not make any sense. I am sure Koichi is mistaken here. John or Scott please clarify. @Enrique: I am sure all the tutors and students will get the e-mail. |
E-mail. post on the forum, or both? |
@Koichi: I’m just wondering where else would I be able to read about the subscription program. |
Hi everyone, Just a few clarifications:
Regards, |
Thanks for the clarification Jared. It sounds like you guys thought of all the important aspects. Very well done. |
Thanks for answering our questions and for all the fabulous work you do! I am looking forward to the start on January 20th. |
Thanks to John and the other people for this interesting new topic. It sounds very good. Javier. |
