Hi Edubody: I recently had 3 SuperPass classes: By the way, all those signed up in my SuperPass classes were new faces to me. With the free classes I’d have 20 or more people signed up. Only 4 or 5 would show up. How is it going with the rest of you guys? |
For my free class today, 7 had originally signed up. Two hours before, two students dropped — but at least they dropped. Eventually only ONE person actually attended! It is almost heartbreaking. I can’t imagine the frustration with no Superpass shows. :| |
Am I the only one here who also has a problem with the way Classes Attended shows on people’s profiles? Even if the student does not attend the actual class, their Classes Attended shows the class anyway! |

Join the Party Laura. You’re not alone at all. |

I get your point, Enrique. For one of my classes, 8 signed up and 1 came. Is there something that we can do about this? |
Austin, you’re doing better than me. So far in my SuperPass classes, enrollment has fallen sharply, and NO SHOWS runs at 100%. |
Does edufire have enough subscriptions for us to see any results? Those numbers would probably drop if there weren’t any classes available. Let’s wait and see what happens. The sample sizes are too small for an accurate trend to show on the charts. |

The drop in enrollments doesn’t surprise me. The huge rise in NO SHOWS does worry me. The worst part is that I don’t know if the NO SHOWS are SuperPass students, or not. It could be students signing up for fun. I don’t recognize any of the names in my classes…..new for me |

There is going to be some turbulence in the waters, that we know. Those numbers you see may only be temporary. (Notice the emphasis on may.) While edufire is going to need our input for them to adjust, it’s too early to really tell. We do need to keep an eye on them anyways. I do hope these things stabilize before my SuperPass classes kick in. After seeing your recent post in “thank you to all my students” I realize you could be affected more than a relative noob like me. |

Dave…. NO SHOWS have been an issue for quite some time now…. as for to know why, well…. I don’t have an answer for this one! :( |
Dave! I agree its still early to know. But, I would really like to know if they are SuperPasas students or not. So far, I have no idea of knowing. If they are Superpass students, they already have already paid. Which would make them Paying No Show students….even if they’re paying very little, they are still Paying Customers. |

@ Lyne, I know what you are saying. I was talking about SuperPass. @ Enrique, Good points. Not seeing those statistics irritates me too. Did you just invent a spanish name for “SuperPass” or is it a Span-glish phrase to describe students who ‘really made the grade’ in your class? (“Superpasas students”) smirk |
haha, Sorry, that was a typing mistake…hehe |
I’ve been to two SuperPass classes so far, and both had 100% attendance (one of them with 10 people signed up, 10 people showing up), but I’ll have to attend more classes to see more on this. So far my limited personal experience with SuperPass has been good in terms of attendance rate. |
Some good, some bad. Sounds like were on track right now. |
haha, indeed. I think in general there will be better attendance for SuperPass classes. Won’t be perfect or anything, but that’s why eduFire still has some things we can do to make things better. As jon / I said in a few other places, though, there is something we’re working on that should help with any of this! |
I’ve seen recent enrollment in my SuperPass classes. Now, let’s see if they show up to class. |
I wasn’t trying to be funny Koichi. I’m suspicious of anything that has nothing but bad reviews or nothing but good reviews. It was starting to look like there might be a reason to worry. |

Hey guys. Listening closely to what you are saying a few things: 1 – It is early. While we’re definitely sensitive to all the feedback we get we literally announced SuperPass publicly less than 5 days ago. I’m really hesitant to draw conclusions yet and encourage all of you to be patient with this. I think a lot of these problems will work themselves out over time. 2 – We’re really open to feedback but even more open to suggestions. :) I’ll be the first person to admit that attendance hasn’t been super fantastic. However, I also know this isn’t an easy problem to solve. Especially now that people are paying for SuperPasses. We’ve been talking about some stuff internally and we’d love to hear your thoughts on what a better system might be. 3 – This is also a problem that happens in the real world. I taught for Kaplan for a number of years and there were times that I had a dozen students enrolled and only 5 would show up. I just accepted that as a fact of life. Ideally eduFire becomes a place where people show up to their classes except in the rare case of an emergency. But it may take a bit of time for us to get there. Thanks, as always, for your feedback. It’s really, really helpful to us as we navigate the waters of the education revolution. |

I just had a class where 6 students signed up. Nobody came! I’m thinking of putting up an idea where the students have points (kind of like our tutor score), but it increases or decreases for if they go to a class or not. If they do not, then their points decrease. Just an idea. |
Austin, was it a SuperPass or free class? |
I like that idea Austin. It’s definitely something we are considering. It’s possible that some sort of score alone might be enough to encourage people to attend (or at least cancel ahead of time if they aren’t able to attend). I think most (all?) of us have been guilty of missing at least one class here and I think the fact that there isn’t any accountability is indeed problematic. |
Austin. There is a Student rating/feedback for 1 on 1 students. I just have NO IDEA where to find that info. |
It was a free class, Enrique. I just had another free class where 40 students signed up, and 13 came. |
Austin. Have you set any SuperPass classes so far. How’s the enrollment/attendance ratio? |
