Hey everyone – Happy July!

As you all know, we adjust the revenue per student for SuperPass classes. This means that for each student you get in a SuperPass class, you’ll be getting this dollar amount per student per class. And guess what, you lucky ducks? This month teacher’s will be seeing a little increase in the revenue per student, so it’s a good month to be a teacher :)

Last Month (June) – $3.51 revenue per student
This Month (July) – $3.74 revenue per student

You can check your SuperPass revenue by clicking on “SuperPass Payments” in your dashboard.

Just as a quick aside, here’s how revenue per student works:
Each month, we set a new revenue per student based on the previous month’s numbers, amount of subscribers, and amount of classes people are taking. For each student a teacher gets in a SuperPass class, you’ll get the RPS (revenue per student) per student, per class. For example, if you have 10 people in one of your classes this month, the revenue for that class is $37.40 (if everyone is SuperPass, and nobody pays the a la carte price you set). It’s up to you whether or not you include your class in SuperPass, and there will definitely be classes that probably won’t want to be a part (especially those that charge a lot more). In general, though, we’ve seen SuperPass classes make more money overall than a la carte only classes, and as the subscriber base grows, so will your class numbers.

Feel free to post your questions here, and I’ll answer them the best I can!

Quick question-
is the payment per hour or for each session? if the class is set as a 2 hour class (not a one hour class that spills over to over an hour) then I assume the edututor gets $3.74 X 2 per student?

Kamal…. I read somewhere (in another thread) that the $3.74 was for the entire session (if 2 hours, you still get $3.74 per student)…. :)

As Lyne says, a session is a session no matter if it is 1 or 2 hours long.

How do you figure the Superpass payment for each month? IS there some sort of formula that you use based on how many active students there are versus the number of classes? What I want to know is if the price will go up as more students discover Edufire are should we expect that the price will not much exceed the $4 mark anytime soon?

Hey Stanley,

There is a formula yes. Based on many variables such as: no. of subscribers, how many took what number of classes, how many classes available and how popular they were…. and so on.

You are right though, the more subscribers, the higher the revenue.

So am I understanding this correctly then… the people who abused the system were not only stealing from edufire but from the other teachers by lowering the amount of the superpass payment because of the false number of sessions taught.
I thought it was unfair before … If this is the case now I’m bordering on angry!
That hurts the whole community… not that we are not all hurt even if it was only from edufire. If it was only from edufire then we would be indirectly impacted in that edufire would have less resources for expenses etc. But if I am understanding correctly the infraction actually caused each tutor to directly lose money by causing the superpass payout to be lessened. That’s just WRONG!
I’m redoubling my efforts to bring more people to edufire…. The more people the more for everyone…

advertising everywhere on the net, with a link to your profile on edufire would help a lot, and you can do it once a month.

You’re exactly right Alaia, which is really disappointing. On a positive note we’re putting measures in place to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

@Adbul, great advice!
