Hi guys!
I wonder if i could offer the English reading for children courses here. I will be teaching English reading from English alphabet identification to phonitics – from a letter to consonant-vowel-consonant to words , phrases and to sentences. This is available to all levels. You can enroll your child for assessment.
What do you think? Do you think this is possible? This would be my first time teaching reading for children online and that is here in edufire!!!

Hi Aubrey,

I think you offering your skills to people with children is an excellent idea. It’s absolutely possible, why not? It’s another marketable skill that you have. I have a 2-year-old son, and I use a variety of websites to teach him the English language. I prefer to use websites because my son is language impaired and the visuals really help him to communicate. You have an excellent idea, market it.

Sincerely,
Jackie Taylor

When I did a little of that I am convinced I improved by skills as a public speaker. Something a lot of ToastMaster International members miss is that what TMI teaches is about communicating with others, not just standing behind a podium spewing practiced words that fit in the written agenda. Good facial gestures and a willingness to improv and be silly can help you get your ideas across and are vital skills to human communications.

It was strangely exciting to go to an elementary school (1st 6 years in American school) to read to 1st/2nd graders (6-8 years old) and walk away with extra skills and knowledge.

@Aubrey! Please check first with the edufire Admins. I believe there is an issue regarding people UNDER 13 years of age.

Aubrey, if you have a class for children under 13, you might want to get the class a Google site. Google sites aren’t apt to show up in the search engine, but if you have enough of a web presence elsewhere — through your own sites and blogs as well as the sites you list with — you can just use the Google site for the class itself. It’s a place to organize your class stuff: assignments, media etc. You give the link to those who you want to have it.

Hi Aubrey,
You can have your class, with the pupils parents to help them. It may work to have you enhancing your skills.

Aubrey,
I would like to have such reading class online for my daughter, who is 11 and have completed reading the full set of Harry Potter twice. But I think she still need to build up vocabulary and enrich expressions in English. If she could have some reading tutoring to guide her, I think she will learn more vocabulary and structures through the books.

Hi Aubrey,
It seems that you could have such a class if the parents were the registered users and accompanied their children in the class. What a great gift for both the parents and the children a wonderful alternative to the TV. Hope you do decide to do it and that it gets OK’d by the powers that be. I know a few people who would really like their children to have this opportunity.
