If we let this site help us design a Craigslist ad, and don’t copy and paste the info somewhere, when we get to the screen that asks us to log into our Craiglist account, does all the info we created vanish? I tried hitting the browser’s back button to call back the screen where I’d entered the info, but couldn’t get back to Edufire, except by opening up another window — which took me to the regular eduFire entry page. |

Hmm I am not sure. Has anyone else used this facility? |

I had the same problem. |

What did I miss? How does this site help in creating a Craiglist ad? |

Well, they encourage you to advertise your classes on Craislist, and on your “My eduFire page” there is a link (under that oft-ignored to-do list) to place a Craigslist ad. You will see your profile in the box, and a note that you can alter it as much or as little as you like before running the ad. The program asks if you’d like to show your rates, your credentials…. So then we create this ad, and we’re directed to the page on our local Craigslist site that asks us to sign into out account. And then…. well, I think there is a direction about saving the work somewhere so you can access it; otherwise it has this tendency of vanishing away into the ether. One advantage of using the eduFire link, as opposed to just signing into your account) is that it preserves whatever formatting you’ve put into your profile. |

Ooh! I never noticed that! Thank you, Karen :)! |

hmm I think it only works if you have an American phone number – I tried to use it but it asks for a phone number for verification and the format won’t take a uk phone or mobile number with the international dialing code :( I also lost my advert information anyway when I tried to log in :( |

@Mair, it might have changed since you tried it. I just clicked on Craigslist; there are now Craigslist sites in the UK, and they do list “services: lessons” as a category. |

Karen, In summary: just showing my ignorance and trying to do something about it :). |

Thank you Karen! |

@Karen Thanks very much for your help. I still can’t advertise in America (needs American type phone verification) but I did manage to register and manually post an advert in Manchester UK :-) |

Once you reach a certain point for creating a Craigslist Ad there are steps missing. There is a solution if you know basic html or familiar with computer language. |

I concur that there do appear to be steps missing. I tried it again. It did post, it did link back to my profile — but all other formatting produced by the program (border, spaces between paragraphs) appeared visually as HTML code. I deleted it quite quickly — and decided that further ads would just start from the Craiglist site. |

Yeah, I’ll be doing more Craigslist ads soon and I’ll be starting from the Craigslist site. Seems that’s just the way to go for now. |
