As many of you know, very soon we’ll be rolling out the ability for you to charge for your multi-student classes. This is something that I know many of you are very excited about and we’re working hard to launch this as soon as we can. As part of the transition to being able to charge for multi-student classes and pay teachers, we’re moving to a weekly pay period. The main reason for this is when we’re collecting payment from students for individual classes there’s actually a pretty high cost both fee-wise and labor-wise to process every single payment individually. We had discussed batching them monthly but don’t want to make you as teachers wait that long and so we have pushed to put weekly payments in place. This new system should be in effect shortly so you’ll soon realize that you’ll be getting paid once a week and your payment will have details for all of tutoring sessions (and eventually classes) that were paid as a part of your payment. If you have any comments or questions about our new system don’t hesitate to drop a reply here in the thread. We’re very excited about what we’ll soon be rolling out and as always, appreciate your patience as we get there! |

When will the weekly payment take effect? |
Most people have been paid incrementally so far this week (up to tuesday). So payments will be aggregated from basically Wednesday forward to today. After that payments will happen starting every Wednesday. |
In simple words, when will I get paid for a class I gave yesterday (thursday). Before your plans were made known. |
Looks like Wednesdays (accd to Scott’s message) |

Ohh great! And next wednesday is Christmas Eve. Couldn’t a better time of the year been chosen to make these changes…..specially not previously announced changes |

Hey Enrique. Our apologies for taking you by surprise with this. It’s definitely something we should have given more heads up on. And while I definitely understand your concern, on the other hand this really isn’t a huge change in how things will actually work. Over the last few months payments have been going out on average, a couple of days after the end of each session. In the new system, they’ll be going out, on average, about 3 1/2 days after each session. So we’re talking about a 36-hour difference or so. We had to make this transition to accommodate 1:M payments (which I think you want right) and given that this is a slower time of the year on the Web we felt it was a good time to do this. We apologize again for any inconvenience here. |

Its just a matter of basic courtesy to let people know on a matter like this…..It is Christmas and people have extra expenses…..every little bit counts…… |

Today is wednesday and Christmas Eve. I’m waiting for my payment. |
Payments went out just now Enrique. As a reminder these are payments for our regular 1:1 tutoring sessions. Payments for any beta 1:M classes are handled separately. One of our next steps is integrating payments for 1:1 and 1:M and that should be complete shortly. Thanks for your patience as we make this transition. |

Jon, It seems like the changes you are putting in place are for the benefit of all tutors, and will help streamline things and make them more efficient. I’m all for that. Weekly payments help me out a lot also, although I haven’t done too many 1:1 lessons lately. The site is still very young and we are all learning how to make things work for us so I’m happy be a part of the process. Change is the only certainty! |

Yup, got my session payment for the week a little while ago. Thanks. Far easier to manage. |
I haven’t gotten anything! And its a 1:1 |
I still haven’t got payment! If there;s a problem, let me know. I already waited days. Seems now I have to wait 1 more week. |
Has your student paid for their lesson yet? I got my payment from 1:1’s from this past week. I think it arrived this morning. |
I have no idea. And if you guys don’t tell me, I’ll never know and time will just keep passing by. There’s been no problem with her payments before. |
I see one on the 18th as not paid yet by your student, so that explains why eduFire hasn’t been able to pay you either. |
Thanks Koichi! I guess it’ll be for ’09 then if at all. Happy Holidays! |

Hello Jon says that ‘’your payment will have details for all of tutoring sessions (and eventually classes) that were paid as a part of your payment.’’ But the payment does not include students’ name, thanks |
Hey Na Na, Definitely one of the things that we have on our list of things to do (getting you more information about invoices, etc), but feel free to add it to the idea board as well! Thanks, and Merry Christmas! |
Koichi, thank you so much^^本当にありがとうね。 But I really need the student’s name to check who paid. I think putting students’ name on the payments is something eduFire has to do. thanks |
I have no idea about this, as it’s not really my area :) I think maybe Ryan or Jon might know the answer to that? |
Koichi thanks^^ |
i got mine on Christmas eve, thanks a lot, you made my Christmas, happy new year |

Na Na, as far as I remember, some time ago the students name was put on the check. Although I recognized that there was none on the last couple of checks and I had really some problems to find out to whom of my students the payment belongs…. So I strongly agree with you! |
