Just wanted to let ya know… What if you end up coming across some signers and they want to know how to call eduFire in sign language? |
Awesome video! I love sign language. I’m learning the Japanese language at the moment and have been dabbling in Japanese sign language. I also know the Australian sign language alphabet. I love how sign language uses emotions as well as body language, and always thought that sign language would be an awesome way to tell a story. |
Haha, I would be really interested in learning Japanese sign language! I know none!! |
Anything Japanese is cool in my book. Gah. My obsession is showing. |
I just checked out the video! You rock! |
You are wonderful!!! Your video somehow reminded me of a movie called: Mr. Holland’s Opus. I’ve completely forgot about that song until my kid was born, and for some mysterious reason (maybe it was the epidural effect??; ) )that song popped to my mind and I started to sing to him a few hours after the delivery. It completely resumed what that 9.7 lb and 56 cm bundle is to us. Anyways, this video here makes this song so much better. |
Hmmm…. Other signs not provided in the song video you provided? Like what? |
Hi Caro, take a look at this: and then later on I found this other video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGYRsOLhUcI . It’s interesting to see a few differences on their signs. For example: both fists closed (ocean) or open palms facing down (ocean), and a few more others. |
Haha, you’re very observant. Because there’s much more variety to the manual body than the written language, there’s bound to have a lot of variety. In your example of the oceans I know why. Open hands used the more “iconic” style that shows how the waves move. Closed hands used the more “english” style by fingerspelling “S” while doing it…. because of the first letter of “Sea”. |

Great video, Caro! :) As the lyrics, I remember my literature teacher in highschool gave us a piece of creative writing to do after the quote “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans”…. |
I tried to translate that quote into ASL, sorta complicated haha. Came up with various versions. |
The ASL translation of the quote it’s in Angela’s second link…. |
I saw it but I thought it was sort of awkward >_> if I hadn’t read the lyric, I wouldn’t have understood it. |
Like I said in the ASL group, I like your idea for the eduFire sign, Caro :) |
It’s a great idea and very artistic too! |
Great video, Caro! |
Great idea! |
