Hey guys, We found a bug concerning group notifications where despite having it checked in your profile, the notifications still weren’t coming through. The team have fixed it. :) So in the meantime there might be some old messages coming through so just wanted to pre-warn you. Thanks! |

How do I turn OFF the group notifications? I already un- clicked it on my profile, but I’m still getting them by the dozens……its very annoying |

I have the same problem as Enrique I think. My mailbox is being flooded with a huge amount of notification mails. It’s been going for about 2 days now; in the mean time I checked notifications off. Does this mean, that it now flushes some buffered emails over time? I do hope it’ll end soon :) |

I know you are fixing it, but I have had to redirect all edufire emails as spam to be deleted. I have got about a thousand between my student and tutor accounts. And I NEVER checked to receive group updates, group messages, or mass emails. I had always left those boxes untoggled/unchecked. At this point they are coming to my blackberry and disrupting my business emails. Even with marking them for junk mail (not my first choice, because I do use edufire and want emails from my tutor, etc), I just got 50 more! |

I’m getting a slew of group notifications. I turned off feature this afternoon and they’re still coming in. |

XD Oh God ! And I was wondering where those 120 emails were coming from XD I turned this feature off, so I hope it’s fixed now…. |

Really sorry about that guys. We’re looking to prevent such things happening again. It should soon end once all the old emails have been flushed through. Thanks for your patience, we really appreciate it. |

Hey guys. Major apologies for this. As mentioned, the feature to be notified via email when there was activity in groups you belonged to was having a problem and messages were not being sent out. Everything was being queued and when we fixed the problem all of the messages that were queued were sent out. Even if you had turned off notifications on your profile any messages that were set to go out before then ended up going out. I know this is super-annoying and apologize for this. We’re looking into ways to make sure this doesn’t happen like this and of course if you turned off notifications then you won’t receive any anymore. |

It really did surprise me at first, and it may have flooded my e-mail inbox but I wouldn’t mind since it’s from my favourite place, Edufire =) |

Ahh I see, I was wondering why I was getting so many! That’s fine, as long as I know it’ll stop after I get them all, since I just shut notifications off. :) |

@Hala Thanks! :) @Sarah Yeah, we always try to give our users control over stuff like this. It’s really important to us that you only receive the messages that you want to receive! |
