Please, why I cannot post a class for the same day?. Before the changes it was possible, why not NOW? Sincerely |
I have posted classes for the same day. Are you sure that you posted them at different times? |
Its a recent change. Now you can’t create for the same day. |
Why? Not sure I like that change. |

i have students that need a class right now for several reasons and I cannot use www.edufire.com but I was forced to use other webs like www.dimdim.com in order no meet theirs requirements. Sincerely |

It can be done for 1:1, but not for 1:m. I’ve had the same issue |
Oh, strange. |
@Alberto Hmm thanks for the link to dimdim – that looks really interesting …. |
You welcome….. |

I support changing it back so you can have classes on the same day. Who’s with me?! |
Me! |
I will tell twice again, if edufire.com has not change I AM FORCED to move to another web that can make this in order to assist to my students. Sincerely |

You can create a 1:1 for the same day. For classes with more than one person, you would need a few days in advance anyway for people to see the class, and register. So, I don’t see this as a big issue. |

I agree Enrique |

Hey Alberto – Right now it’s actually fixing some bugs, apparently – for example, prepay classes now (should) always show up before the class starts, whereas there was a bug messing this up before. Granted, it’s not an ideal fix, but the assumption was that most people don’t create classes on the same day they are holding it (as Enrique says), so that there is time to get people in. To be honest, and I’m not saying you do this, the only time I can think of people doing this is if they want to hold free 1-on-1 lessons with people by quickly creating and holding the class before anyone except the one student has time to sign up, which is something we can’t support on this platform (running all this costs us money!). Not that I want to see you go (though we do ultimately want to see you succeed!), but if you want to do quick meetings like that other platforms might work out better for you. Like you said, DimDim is pretty neat – I’ve always run into problems when trying to use it, but I’ve heard better things from other people. |

Koichi, I’m not saying that we should necessarily be able to do free 1:1 sessions, but why is it OK to have free 1:many classes but not free 1:1 sessions? It is only my curiosity and an obsession with logic that forces me to ask this ;-) |
I agree, Mair. I mean, Koichi, you do have a great point, but still…. |
Good question Mair…. Koichi? :P |

Classes are a fabulous way to advertise yourself, unless you just teach for the love of it and have the time, then that is what most people use that facility for. 1:1 sessions aren’t “really” an advert in the sense that one is likely to ‘teach’ one on one. Of course, all our actions are ‘adverts’ but I’m not referring to that. Unless of course if you think you have a potential paying 1:1 student and want to give your first free 1:1 session then we can arrange that for you. We want successful teachers and part of that success is marketing and free classes, when created properly, are fabulous. Hope that helps. Whether Koichi meant that or not I don’t know. :) That was my 3 pence worth. :) |

I think you’re saying what I’m about to say marco, but just in case: 1-on-1 free classes cost the same for us as 1-to-many free classes. If we’re going to allow people to teach free classes (where nobody, including us gets any revenue from it), then we at least want more people to be able to use it. I suppose that’s the “cost” to use the platform for free – you have to open the door to more people so they can experience the platform. There are more details which I can’t really go into, but I promise it’s been thought through very thoroughly, and there are plenty of reasons for it. |
