I’m great for bug testing cause I’m awesome at acting like an idiot on a site. Right.
I was scheduled for an 8am session and luckily I saw that it said that’s 3pm my time and I just cancelled it. I’m sure there was a warning screen but I blitzed through it (as I think most web users will). Is it possible for the system to always do the math so that each person only sees their own time zone for appointments.

In other words… If I am PST and the tutor is EST, I would ask that tutor for 9am PST and it would show on her schedule at 12pm EST. So we each would only see our own timezones. I think that in addition to always showing the timezone so one is clear (in case they overthink it and try to do the math) would be the best solution.

Hmmmmm mine has always shown my time zone for the time I had scheduled. That is peculiar. Maybe there was a glitch?

Robert,

The site is designed such that each user should only be seeing session times in his or her local time. For example, a student in Los Angeles requests tutoring at 5pm from a tutor in New York, the tutor sees the request as 8pm, while the student will see it as 5pm.

We’ve recently made some changes to how session request times are stored, so if you encounter this behavior again, please be certain to let us know about it, so we might try and track down the reason behind the incorrect display.
