Hi Timothy! Thanks for the introduction :) Are you looking to teach through eduFire? Do let me know if so. We also have a orientation class being held tomorrow if you can attend.

Hi Debbie, I actually thought about teaching Guitar Via Edufire but to be honest I’m mainly here as a student to improve my Japanese speaking. I have found your flashcards very useful and have been using them almost everyday since I signed up. It would be nice to teach on here though I admit, Would I need a different account for teaching?

Hi Timothy! Great to hear you enjoy the flashcards. If you are interested, there is a free Japanese class coming up very soon. It is a private class but the teacher is very happy to have students watch.

In answer to your question, it is better if you teach here to have a separate account (teaching account) because with a student account you cannot join classes, only one to one private sessions.

Do let me know if you need anything :)

I spoke to the person who runs the Japanese class and he is actually heading over to the area of Japan where I will be living in the next 2 months so to be honest. I will no doubt grab a coffee and try and get some 1-to-1 tuition with him while we are in the same area.

I had a look on the teaching area and couldnt help notice that alot of the lessons have 0 attending. I dont mean to seem rude but through teaching on Edufire is it primarily the teachers job to promote the lessons and promote students to sign up to the site and take lessons through them. I currently teach through skype and am wondering the benefits of teaching through Edufire as opposed to privately?

HI Timothy! Not rude at all :) We (eduFire) have talked about changing how classes/sessions are viewed on the website because we have one to one sessions (1:1) running all day but they are not shown anywhere on the website. It seems that most people that come here prefer 1:1 tuition rather than group classes. Check out our Spanish teachers for an example and their profiles.

The advantage of using eduFire is your profile. Have a look at our successful teachers and you will see the amount of sessions they have taught along with feedback from students. That in turn brings the teacher new students. The profile page is more important to our teachers than even the money.

In addition to Debbie’s comments, eduFire provides a fully functional classroom with up to 99 students where you can share material such as mp3, powerpoint, voting facilities with your students and much more.
