Hello Everyone, My name is Jose Rafael Nieto Calderon, I’m 25 from Maracaibo, Venezuela. I have to Thanks Koichi and Tofugu’s for letting me know about this site. I have been for over 5 years trying to learn Japanese by myself, But didn’t even got to learn the Hiragana. I was being very messy with how I was learning. I guess is not like English. Which I learned by myself. I know I have some problems with my English, but just need to polish it up with some conversations. So I’m here to learn Japanese from ZERO, and polish up my English. HUGS TO EVERYONE! My phrase is “You will only see Obstacles when you take your eyes away from your Goal”. That also affected me the last years, lost sight but now I’m back on track (- ) |

Welcome Jose!! Great to have you here. BTW, what are epales? :) |
|

Thank you for the welcome, Abdul, Lyne and Jon. ‘Epales’ is a word we use here in Maracaibo, don’t know if the other places of Venezuela use it. That is like ’Hello’+’How are you?’ ’Hola’+’Como estas?’ in one word. Is very informal, It was an invention of some wacky Maracaibo Folk. We also have a word here ‘Anikazo’ that is, how can I explain it. Some here found the word ‘Aniki’ from Japanese was cool. and made a new word ‘Anikazo’ meaning ‘Friend who you have a big trust’ ‘Amigo a quien le tienes confianza’. Now everyone here use it. At least in my Region we cause distortion of many languages, hahaha. |
