Hi, thought I’d introduce myself because of the Forum title. :)

I love both learning and teaching. I’ve mentored hundreds of clients over the last 10 years in building websites, marketing them, and doing various other things with their computers.

I’m going back to school full-time this fall to continue my education. I’m thinking about getting a teaching certificate too but am not sure yet.

I’d eventually like to teach at a university.

You can click on my name to learn a little more about me.
Thanks y’all,

Roger B.

Hey Roger. Welcome to EduFire! But hey, you’ve been here longer than me….. what made you decide to finally write your Introduction? I plan to write my Intro too soon. He he. Tell me more about your Web Designing experience. Ok? God Bless.

wow, didn’t expect to get so many replies — didn’t check back till today. Thanks all y’all!! :)

Thanks for the invite to the orientation class.

The classes I’ve taken went well — except for one of the sessions — a delay time of 1 or 2 seconds with a teacher in China (the little green icon at the top right of the acrobat.com window showed my latency as really, really low yet I bet the teacher’s connection latency was really high due to his location i’m guessing — that only happenned during one of his 2 classes which where 24 hours apart.)

Yep, P-town! :) congrats on graduating!!! i’m going back to BYU this fall to continue the road to finish my BS and then have to decide where i’ll get my phd in one of the sciences. I’ve been up to R-town a few times. :)

Web design experience? I would say it’s relatively limited on the strictly “design” side of things. But my experience with overall web production and maintenance/upgrades/makeovers is much more vast — been doing it for over 10 years. I teach my clients how to design and maintain and market their own websites using tools like cPanel, Zen Cart, WordPress, phpBB, phpmyadmin, OpenX, etc. I’ve taught hundreds of sessions, if not more (i’ll have to look at my records sometime), both one-on-one and with a group — using one of the VNC’s(RealVNC or TightVNC) and a regular phone headset or sometimes Skype. I really enjoy it. :)
I’ve just started using Mikogo for some of my clients too and they love it. No router port forwarding configuration like you have to do with VNC which isn’t too bad but it scares some beginners! And it’s free, unlike GoToMeeting, etc.

I also love using tools like Snapz Pro X(Mac OS X) or Snagit(Windows XP) to make little how-to videos. Jing is awesome too!
And I’ve recently started uploading a few of them to screencast.com and have an RSS feed setup so people can get my stuff via iTunes which is cool — the possibilities are pretty exciting with that!
I’d like to teach people how to do that and then eventually monetize it after they get a critical mass audience.

Allright, well, don’t want to speak too much. Thanks everybody. :) I look forward to participating here more soon!

Best regards,

So what is your BS going to be in? Sounds like you have a lot of experience…. just want the degree behind it?
