My name is Maria, I am 26 years old, and live and was born in the USA. I started learning Italian last year as a hobby with an audio book (CD course). I am native in both English and Spanish (Dominican Rep.) and I have always loved the Italian language. In the fall of last year, I took an intermediate 1 course and did well in it. The rest of the time I have tried to keep up with it using websites and chatting with natives. Now, I can read and chat but in speaking I struggle. I need practice.

Hi again and welcome Maria :-)

Don’t hesitate to check the Italian tutors profiles and book a trial session with the one(s) you may feel comfortable studying with.

Also check all upcoming Italian classes (mine included) and eventually sign up for those you want to attend:

Benvenuta Maria!
If you do chat in Italian, I would suggest you try using the tools provided by most messengers to actually speak online. This is how I improved my Spanish. It works and it is informal, which is what works best. Ask one of your chat friends (make sure their education level is one you can trust for corrections….) to talk with you instead of just typing!
Buona fortuna!

Thank you all for all your support and advice. ;). To answer some questions my parents are from two small towns, Mao and Tamboril which is near Santiago!! Every time I go to DR I fall in love with the country all over again :D.

Take care =)
