Hello all,

My name’s Joe and I’m new to eduFire. Originally hailing from San José, California (just south of San Francisco… it’s where all the neat new technology comes from!), this past August I moved to Portland, Oregon to continue working on my B.A. in Philosophy.

Over the last two years, I have tutored in a variety of subjects, including English, French, history, literature, and general education subjects (math, science, etc.) up to the college freshman level. I am looking to eduFire to supplement my normal tutoring income, and hopefully to meet some awesome people along the way (and maybe learn some things myself!).

Some classes I am considering teaching (besides the subjects I mentioned above) are English conversation and idioms, English vocab and grammar, Cinéma/Film studies, Latin, Eastern & Western philosophy, American government, Shakespeare, drama/theatre, World Literature, famous historical figures, poetry… the list goes on!

I have had the remarkable privilege and pleasure of learning from some fantastic teachers in these subjects, and I hope to extend my love of these and other topics to everyone here on eduFire!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Portland is beautiful; my girlfriend and I have only been here two months, but we love the city and we love the state!
