My name is Carter and I’m 15 years old. :D I was born on August 13th , 1993 , on a Friday in Virginia Beach , Virginia. But when my parents divorced when I was three , my mom took my older siblings and myself to North Charleston , South Carolina where I was raised by her and our grandparents. I’m Black , Puerto Rican , and Choctaw. But I don’t know any of the languages that come with them. I’m sad that I really didn’t get a chance to learn Spanish from my own dad but I did learn later on in life , of course I could use a refresher , but that’s not the reason I joined! >_< You see I just moved to Caribou , Maine and almost everyone at my highschool knows French! 0_0 (We’re pretty close to Canada so I guess that’s why. >>; ) I feel kind of left out , not many of my friends think I can do it since they grew up learning language , but I want to prove them wrong! I’m going to need some help though , that’s why I joined eduFire. =) I’m a quarter of an inch away from from being 4ft. 10in. ;_; So yes I am LEGALLY a midget. >_< My hobbies are singing , writing poetry , drawing , reading and OH MY GOD: STUDYING! <——-(Yes I am a geek.) |

Carter, that may be one of the best introductions I’ve seen yet! First, I understand about Maine — I’m from New Hampshire and my mom lived in Maine when she was young. My mom is also 4’9" — so she’s technically a midget :o). I was never taught the language my father speaks (Greek) so I know how disappointing that is. I’m determined to teach, if I have any children, as many languages as I can haha! Again, welcome and if you have any questions — we’re all here for you! |

Welcome to eduFire, Carter!!! :) You’ve come to the best place for learning French! Check out he Flash Cards, the educational videos and of course our wonderful French tutors! :) I can relate to the what you’re saying – my grandmother and her sister were both fluent in (spoken) Hungarian, but I didn’t get to learn it from them… And no, I still don’t speak Hungarian, I never learned it from anyone else after they died… :( Back to you – I really hope you will enjoy the site! And come talk to us in the community forums! :) |
