Dunno what to say really, I am a Swedish 28 year old with a flight booked for Tokyo early January next year. I however know very little (generously put) Japanese so I got hooked up with Edufire and I had my first lesson today actually with the gifted Na Na. My hopes are to, well honestly, suck less at Japanese when the time comes to board that plane. I dont know what drives me to travel halfway across to world to a country I dont really know all that much about, something that I will have to figure out once I am down there I guess. To say that I am passionate about Japan would not be fair to those who actually are, but there is no other country that has compelled me as much to the point where I decided to go and live there for 90 days atleast. So, lets hope I am not a lost cause and that I at the very least can order some Ramen to feed the oh so famous blubber that is my belly. Hare gött, tjofräs! |

Good luck with your travels! It sounds really exciting. I did that when I went to Spain, but I did know some Spanish before I went. In the end, I loved living in another culture. Glad you already had one great session! |

Thnx for the good lucksies guys. Yeah, I am super psyched Alicia, kinda regret I decided so far ahead of time in a way, now it just feels like on longest train ride ever if you know what I mean? But hey, he who waits shall be able to order Ramen in Japanese (famous Swedish saying). Forgot to mention something, I have gotten a ton of “friend”-invitations and it freaked me out at first since I dont know anyone here but I do realize its just a curtesy thing but I am not used to this community stuff so i just ignored all of them, it doesnt mean I am some sort of weirdo who prefers to be the lonely dude wearing mascara sitting in the corner, just that when I get to know some of you I am sure we will be friends, but until we do its freak mode on! HA! The lonely dude wearing mascara sitting in the corner? I love it! The community here is super friendly and amazing, you will see. I know what you mean by feeling like the longest train ride ever when you make such a big plan and then have to wait several months…. I’ve done it a few times and it was not fun. But hopefully you’ll be able to pass your time enjoyably on eduFire :) |

Welcome to eduFire Rickard! If you have any questions or need anything, don’t hesitate to ask. Good luck with your exploration of the Japanese language and the move. |
