Hi Everyone! First of all, thank you for making me feel so welcome in such a short period of time. I live in Northern Germany and I am a Native English Speaker. I have been teaching English as a Second Language for a couple of years now. I have years of experience as a teacher and have taught many years in small classroom environments, and also private lessons. I have many years experience in front of larger audiences (in the Sciences and also in Business). I look forward to meeting you all and chatting with you in forums and maybe even working with some of you who wish to work with me improving your English skills. I have been learning German for a bit more than three years now, and working at it daily. I think this gives me a clear picture of what it means to really learn a new language as an adult. Thanks again. Bis Bald, |

Hey Kim, Welcome to the eduFire Community! Where in Northern Germany do you live? I did a summer studying in Stuttgart and Eisenach and had to opportunity to travel to many places throughout the Deutschland. |

I live just in between Lübeck and Hamburg (19 minutes by train to Lübeck and just a bit further to Hamburg) in a nice city called Bad Oldesloe (which translates to mean something like Healthy/Bath Oldesloe). Only a very short drive to the Baltic Sea, and almost on the Trave River. |

Hi Kim! Welcome to eduFire! Learning language as an adult is definately a different beast. Total immersion into the culture is the best way to do it though. Hope you are having the time of your life in Germany! |

Hey Kim. Welcome to eduFire! It’s awesome to see people joining the site from all around the world!!! German is one of those languages I probably should know a bit of given my heritage (I’m a quarter German) but I don’t. I’m at the right place though if I want to get started I guess. ;) |
