Hi Everyone!

First of all, thank you for making me feel so welcome in such a short period of time.

I live in Northern Germany and I am a Native English Speaker.

I have been teaching English as a Second Language for a couple of years now. I have years of experience as a teacher and have taught many years in small classroom environments, and also private lessons.

I have many years experience in front of larger audiences (in the Sciences and also in Business).

I look forward to meeting you all and chatting with you in forums and maybe even working with some of you who wish to work with me improving your English skills.

I have been learning German for a bit more than three years now, and working at it daily. I think this gives me a clear picture of what it means to really learn a new language as an adult.

Thanks again.

Bis Bald,
Kim

Hey Kim,

Welcome to the eduFire Community! Where in Northern Germany do you live? I did a summer studying in Stuttgart and Eisenach and had to opportunity to travel to many places throughout the Deutschland.

I live just in between Lübeck and Hamburg (19 minutes by train to Lübeck and just a bit further to Hamburg) in a nice city called Bad Oldesloe (which translates to mean something like Healthy/Bath Oldesloe).

Only a very short drive to the Baltic Sea, and almost on the Trave River.

Hi Kim!

Welcome to eduFire! Learning language as an adult is definately a different beast. Total immersion into the culture is the best way to do it though. Hope you are having the time of your life in Germany!

Hey Kim. Welcome to eduFire! It’s awesome to see people joining the site from all around the world!!! German is one of those languages I probably should know a bit of given my heritage (I’m a quarter German) but I don’t. I’m at the right place though if I want to get started I guess. ;)
