Hey all. This is the new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) forum for eduFire. Our goal is to have the best and most comprehensive FAQ possible to make it as easy as possible for students and teachers here at eduFire. In order to keep the FAQ forum orderly we ask the following things:

1 – If you have an FAQ, don’t start a new thread here. Rather, ask the question in this thread. We’ll take the question, modify it if need be and post it as a new thread here along with the answer.

2 – If an already posted FAQ is incorrect, doesn’t make sense, is out of date, etc. please post a reply to it in the thread for that FAQ (not here). We’ll go in and check it out and make the modification if necessary.

Eventually we’ll be transferring most/all of the FAQs here to our FAQ section. However, the FAQ forum allows us to get up answers more quickly and allows you to provide feedback about new FAQs.

One final important note: Unlike the other forums here we will be editing/deleting/etc. your posts here from time to time to keep this forum clean and usable. Please don’t be offended if we do this, it’s just our way of making this section of the site as beneficial to you as possible. Thanks and enjoy the FAQ forum! :)

Hey Francois. It’s definitely not. :) We certainly have every intention to localize into other languages in the future. However, we’re working with limited resources right now so at least for the time being the site’s only available in English. But we absolutely welcome all comers! :)

Hey guys. Swearing here isn’t acceptable regardless of the language. And what’s completely unacceptable is any hostility directed to other users here. Consider this a (very strong) warning. It’s simply not in alignment with the values and spirit of this community. If it continues we simply have no choice but to suspend or terminate accounts. That’s not something we want to do but we’re taking a very hard line here on making sure conversation here is constructive.

Feel free to message me privately if you want.

I’m having trouble with the Cyrillic Alphabet flash cards I set up in Russian. I select the correct answer when playing the deck, the program acknowledges I have selected the right answer by turning the letter green, but then the whole choice actually turns red. When I look at the answers at the end of the test, both the answer and question are the same, even with the red X next to the response.

I’m confused about the time. We come from different parts of the world and different time zones. Is it possible to post the dates in GMT? Thanks very much.

Kairos. Providing you chose the correct time zone for yourself in your profile, all the times you see on eduFire are always in your local time. The system calculates time differences so you don’t have to.

Let me know if I can be of any other help.

Hi. I’ve just signed up, and I wonder: How do you pay? I couldn’t find that in your extensive documentation. I live in China, and have no stateside bank account. I have one in the PRC, and will soon have one in Hong Kong. At that time I’ll set up a Paypal account. Will any of these work?

Thanks,
James

Ah, one more thing. If I set up a free class, is it free for me, too? I mean, do I need to pay you some kind of minimum? It’s a great way to attract prospective students, but I don’t really have a way to pay YOU at this point (see my previous post). Thanks.

James

Hi James! Payment is made through paypal so when you have that set up, you will be good to go :) As for free classes, they are free for the student and the tutor. They are great promotion for tutors.
If you could join one of our orientation classes that would be very helpful for you. You can read about that here. click here
If you need anything in the mean time, please let me know :)

How do I rate my teacher? I had an excellent class and I’d like to give a positive rating, but I can’t find any way to do so for the class I took.

Thanks!

How do I upload slides into a class? Do I do this before the class starts or during it? Please help. Thanks. Stephen.
