that would depend on the person wouldnt it? i suggest hosting a free class of each to see how many people are interested in it, and its also a great way to see how your teaching capabilities are. |

I agree with Henk. |

Does it really pay off for the tutor to offer free classes? Do more students attend your classes after you have free classes? I have thought hard about offering free class but can not convince myself that it is worthwhile to give my services away for free. |

Hi Stanley, I was lucky to have my first private student before I had any free classes. He left very good feedbacks for me and that gave confidence to others who might want to consider me as their tutor. I had given a couple of free classes (2 in a month) and from there I got to know more students. Some of my paid students come for my free classes too and some students from free classes become superpass students. Free classes enabled me to learn more about my own teaching methods as well as my students’ learning style. If a tutor is good, I am very sure that free classes will definitely bring in paid students for the tutor. |

i would say about 5 % of those who attend free classes, would attend paid classes |

do you have any source where you draw that information from? |

I’m having my first (free) class soon and am hoping that it will spark some interest amongst students so that they might be inclined to pay for future classes or invest in some one-to-one tuition…. 5% does seem pretty low, but I guess it’s better than nothing! I should imagine that there’s a fine line between giving away too many classes and not giving enough to arouse interest…. I’m curious to see how this is going to pan out! |

I guess the White Prince is saying 5% because of his experience. |
