Hello folks,

I am new to EduFire and I have set up my first class on basic political theory: http://edufire.com/classes/10806-introduction-to-political-concepts

This class is as much for me as any potential student as I hope it will familiarise me with the set-up here at EduFire. I’m getting my feet wet, so to speak.

I have a few ideas for future classes with a more structured approach. The purpose of this post is to see if there is any potential interest in my ideas. I will list below some topics/class ideas that I would consider teaching in the future. Please be aware, I am still a full-time student and can’t possibly teach all of these, maybe only one or two. If you are interested, please reply to this post or send me a message if anything interests you.

Craig

List of potential topics/classes:

Introduction to Scottish Politics
Introduction to British Politics
Introduction to Scottish History
The Works of George Orwell: ‘Animal Farm’
The Works of George Orwell: ‘1984’
Visiting Scotland: A Guide to Scottish Phrases, Dialects and Pronounciation
The Scottish National Party: The Struggle for Independence

1984 and Animal Farm are great …. I’ll be watching you.

I also like the short essay “Politics and the English Language”, specially because it is as relevant now as it was 60 years ago, and maybe more.

Absolutely, it is a very influential essay. I’m sure it will continue to be relevant as long as the English language is spoken.

The internet does make it easier to watch people, far more advanced that Telescreens.

Thanks for your interest. Probably my favourite Orwell novel is ‘Coming Up For Air’. I would like to explore that as well although I know it is not as widely read as the ‘big 2’ so to speak.
