A program where the talk is all about Portuguese language stuff. The doors are opened to all levels. Feel like a Brazilian chatter box? Excellent! So, what’s your question of the day? : )
I hope to meet you soon.
Tchau
Angela
Ok AngelA Quando voce dara aulas de portugues? or if you like more Quando voce vai dar aulas de portugues?
And I mean on edufire….for FREE, as everybody else wants!…hehe
hehehe, you are funny, Enrique: I’ve been giving Portuguese classes before joining this awesome community, and I’m still busy with my students. It has been great! : ) I have conversational classes going as well as beginner’s classes. Some students meet at my place even, others online. : ) Now, how to say your question in Portuguese!?:
“Quando voce dara aulas de portugues?” or
“Quando voce vai dar aulas de portugues?”
Obrigada pela pergunta : )
Thank you for the question.
Oi, take a look at this topic. Pretty cool eh?

Hi Brandi, yes Salvador is warm year-round, but do take advantage of visiting Brazil in September and October (spring time in Rio) and good time in Iguazu as well.(in Portuguese: Cataratas do Iguaçú). This is prety excitting!!
Help, help HELP!!!
My fiance and I are considering changing our wedding plans from getting married in New Orleans to getting married in Brazil (our honeymoon destination.)
We plan to start by getting married on a resort in Salvador, then work out way to Rio, Iguazu Falls, and then to Argentina.
The question I have though, is when is the best time of year to do that? I want to get married outside, so I should definitely not go during rainy season. And I want to be able to enjoy the beach, so I’m thinking July may not be the best choice either.
What about late September?? Early October?
OOooooooh, I needed to read this, Gracias and muito obrigada Enrique! Yep, you got a good false friend below:
constipado (Sp) = constipado (Port)“can’t do number 2”. It also means " I have a cold", though most people don’t use to say their noses are plugged, for this matter we say “eu tenho uma congestao nasal” (nasal congestion). But “congestionado” also means ‘traffic jam’
Recap:
constipado: sinus and constipation (mostly used).
O meu nariz (nose) esta constipado.
Estou constipado.
congestionado: sinus and traffic jam.
O meu nariz esta congestionado. Tenho consgestao nasal.
Poxa/gee o transito/traffic esta congestionado.
Hope nobody is constipated. ; )
More about “false friends”
constipated in english = can’t do….you know what….hehe
constipado in spanish = congestion due to a cold. Nose and sinus congestion.
What about this one? Is it also a false friend? I say nooooooo.
Angela in portuguese = Angel girl
Angela in english = Angel girl
Angela in spanish = Angel girl
So, Angela is NOT a false friend. Angela is a TRUE friend.
Angie. Como vai voce?…YOU
Como vai ele?….Lil’ A
Como vao eles?….Hubby and Lil’ A
Ahhhh,,,vai and vao. Singular and plural….hehe
Correct?????
@Enrique. You are great! Yes, there are plural forms for verbs as well.
Como vai voce? How are you?
Como vao voces? How are you guys?
Como vai ele? How is he?
Como vao eles? How are they?
Muito contento que minha amiga Angie y Lil’ A vai bem! ooops, its 2 of you. Is it still vai?
@ Enrique: Tudo bom comigo, e como vai voce? So you can use the same format as “como vai….?” and add pretty much anything to it: como vai o pequenino A? Como vai o trabalho? Como vai a cidade? Como vai a namorada? Como vai o edufire? Etc. See you were really close, just your keyboard didn’t type the article “o”, but guess what? “Como vai Lil’ A” is absolutely acceptable by his mom. : )
Oi Angie! I agree, convocado sounds better.
Angie, como vai voce?
Now, how do I say, how’s Lil’ A
Como vai Lil’ A? I’m sure that’s not correct, is it?
Opa, desculpa Enrique? Oopps, sorry Enrique . I know… the word “summoned” is heavy isn’t it? But “convocado” doesn’t sound so bad.
You’ve been summoned: ; )
