So, you see motivation as solely an external force? I never thought of it as only external, and I tend to get motivated by goals I set for myself.
As a parent, I’ve often tried to find ways to motivate my children, but once they were old enough to think for themselves, I found that it had to come from themselves. I’m not talking about things like rewards for good grades or good behavior. While positive reinforcement works, the desired result stops when the reward stops. I think that’s not motivation, that’s just bribery.
I agree that inspiration talks to your inner self or core. However I see it more as an idea, or ideal rather than a drive to achieving a goal.
Interesting view… I see motivation as prodding, cajoling, threatening, pushing or somehow moving another into action… the problem being when whatever outside force that was being applied stops so does the action. I think motivation works for short term accomplishments. I don’t think it is sustainable without a lot of pushing from the outside for the long haul.
Inspiration on the other hand I see as something that touches the core of the person affected and causes them to move of their own accord toward whatever the goal is. I see Inspiration as sustainable over the long haul because the force to sustain it comes from inside the individual who is inspired.
I view passion as something else entirely…I view passion as an emotion… a strong one but again one that is fueled by something else so passion can be caused by motivation or inspiration, however passion fueled by motivation I see waning when the force that caused the motivation is no longer present but I see passion that is fueled by inspiration having a longer lifespan since the fuel for it comes from within the person.
I commented on the blog, but I would like to add that, as much as I love the USA, it is becoming a country for wealthy people only.
That’s one reason I wanted eduFire to allow signatures in the forum.

Oh that is cool! The first thing that came to my mind was: could we join forces with these people and teach?
Yeehaw! Agreed! Let’s get something more comprehensive and user-friendly…. pretty please :)?
So did this grind to a halt… Too Many Options What happened?
Pardon me while I revive this dead horse only to flog him again but..I just realized that there isn’t even a place for anyone to see the “other” classes that are listed unless the category is one of those listed.like HTML or Photoshop or….in other words there is not a button for “see all other”
I sent someone to the site and this is what they wrote me in an email…
“Alaia that is a really cool site … how are your crystal classes listed.. I didn’t see the “Other” classification.
So then I went to the classes page where I had sent them…They were right.. There is no way to find the “other” classes unless you know the title by keyword and put it in the search.
It puts those of us that wish to be a part of this site and to send people here who may be interested in our subjects at a distinct disadvantage.
I am not a language or tech person who came to the site and then decided to teach a metaphysics class on the side.
I am actually a person who specializes in this field and in the Spiritual and metaphysical aspects of business .
Those of us who are in these fields do interact with the mainstream public and some of us even have those mainstream people as clients.
Those are the people whom I have been sending here.. They can’t find where I am sending them. I was mistakenly sending them to the classes page so they could get a taste of the whole site and then check out my classes.
PLEASE at least put a button for “see all other”
