Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) Study Group

This is for everyone preparing for the GRE. This group used to be “GRE Vocabulary Builder,” but it’s better if we cover the entire GRE, ya?

Hi Kathryn,

I would be glad to help with you with ACT prep.

I have sent an email to you as well. Please check your edufire inbox

regards,
Kamal

Hope you are doing well!
The problem with alerts not coming to me is that (likely) the students won’t get alerts that I replied (although late); and may never return to edufire….

Hi Mair and Debbie!

Good to see Edufire is still active. I was in hibernation!
Noticed that I had two emails from potential GMAT and CLEP students (June 28 and July 5) none of reached my email box.

Guess the problem is more common. I’l keep checking my email more regularly going forward. Looking forward to a more active Edufire

Dear friends and collegues,

I came on edufire to see about any news about our Japanese teachers and anyone else who are in Japan to see if they are okay~

I want to know what I can do to help the affected people in Japan who need our help right now.
(I personally really wanted to ask about my former teachers who may read this post)

Here are some of the people I believe may be affected.

Are you okay?? are your loved ones okay? I’d like to know if there is something we can do~

hi Steve,

Nice thread and good set of interaction. The services we could offer depends on the companies you guys are talking to and what their needs may be. I think we have a good set of tutors who could be grouped to teach most topics of interest.

A few examples:
1. We have tutors for most languages which could be used to bundled as part of orientation classes for companies that send employees abroad. Would be useful to have a few hours with a language tutor?
2. If you are talking to schools/ student organisations, we have tutors who can teach most test prep ( the tutors could be grouped for language, math, etc). We formed a good group of tutors for CLEP…. and could have a set to teach most courses….
3. There are people good at various aspects of computer literacy (computer languages, design, web tools etc)
4. There can be classes on basic financial literacy ( I am involved in a number of real-life classes on finance which is why I am logging on to the forum less often)

It would help if you can share the areas in which your target areas lie. You should have access to the active tutors by subject in Edufire. It should not be too difficult a task in mapping them to groups based on what a prospective company may like.

I think it works both ways- rather then say these are things we can offer a company, think about what the companies may need – I am sure, the Edufire network has enough tutors to fulfill most teaching needs.
