Alicia, your concepts are quite right to what I believe about learning a new language. In fact, we discover bits of ourselves when we approach a new language and its culture. Welcome to the group!

I find learning a new language fun and exciting. Learning about another culture is like solving a mystery about a person and putting the pieces together to see if what you thought was close to the truth or was it way off. Learning about different cultures also gives insight to what type of person I am as well. I’m open to learning about new cultures without being prejudice and that is a very good thing. I go in with no opinion and come out with a lot of knowledge on that culture. It’s a very exciting trip for me.
