Idea: Reason for not showing up for class

We all know how irritating it is when a student doesn’t show up for a class. So, why not make that student give some sort of a reason for missing that class?

Like, for example, let’s say that you miss a class, and then you find a message in your inbox. It says “What is Your Reason?”, and then you have to reply back to it. Then, the reason goes straight to the teacher, so they know it.

Just a thought. What do you guys think?

I think something like this was recommended before, but I am all for the idea. It is so frustrating when 50 people sign up for a free class and 6 show up. -.- I'd like to know why they even sign up.
