Idea: Extend immediate sessions facility

I often have time when I put myself in ‘Ready to Teach’ mode. I can teach but in the meantime do something else meaning I’m on another tab. I often keep switching to see if I get a request as obviously I can’t sit there staring at the ‘My edFire’ page. It’d be great if we got some other alert too, like the tab flashing or it be linked to a messenger program that pops up… essentially something to alert you to get to your page as you have a potential student waiting.

We do have sound enabled right now. It's not possible to do a pop-up outside the web browser (since there's no separate application to download with eduFire) but it might be possible to flash the tab.

Marco, great suggestion but, alas, browsers don't allow this. What we did implement is a very, very, very persistent chime feature which will ring continuously until you address it. We wrote it this way for just this situation.
