About Me

Maria Ly is the co-founder of Skimble, an online tool that helps you easily plan, track and discover your active life.

Maria is passionate about inspiring active lifestyles and healthy living. In the last year, she trekked to K2 base camp in Pakistan and projected climbs up to 5.13a around the world. Back in San Francisco, Maria enjoys yoga, climbing competitions, and hiking. She also enjoys contributing to the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial scene, having recently participated in TheFunded Founder Institute. Before Skimble, Maria worked on international product and marketing at Google, Flurry, and Cypress with experience in Canada, USA, Germany, and Japan.

Maria holds a B.A. in Computer Engineering with minors in Management Sciences and International Studies, co-operative education, from the University of Waterloo, Canada. In college, Maria spearheaded Women in Engineering initiatives, was IEEE VP Marketing and Class Representative. She grew up in Canada where she was a former gymnast on the Canadian power cheer all-stars team. In addition, Maria fostered the youth entrepreneurial culture with The NRG Group and Kids NRG.
